There is a lever inside but to pull down the seats, you need access to the trunk.

You ask the most "what do you think/how to" question then anyone I know. Atleast you're using the site for it's intent and knowledge from other owners, GOOD JOB! As for the trunk hole, I think a company makes something called smoothlocks, don't know if they make them that big though. I would go all out and fill it and repaint the trunk, but that's really expensive. Good luck and let us know what you do , take some pics.

I was stating there are other ways to acces the trunk then by puttin my key in the hole.. i just want to cover the silver of the key hole.. i was thinkin just to paint it.. but i dont think it will turn out how i want it too... i im going to just be stuck with it.. until i put on the body kit and then ill look into popping the key part off and filling it in.. painting over.. Its going to look **** hot.. when im all done!!

^^As long as you still have a key you can pop it from the dash switch, or if you are switchless (do all cobalts have the trunk popper button?) crawl through and pull the glow in the dark emergency release handle in the trunk,

Try taking off the Bowtie in the back and either just adhesive it over the key hole (since it's large enough to cover it) or paint it then put it over the key hole? Just a simple suggestion where you don't need to find paint to match and ruin anthing mechanical. Home Depot has some really strong adhesive that won't come off in a car wash or wind from driving.

Only problem with crawling thru is that the release for the rear seat is also in the trunk lol.

The trunk is quite large. 6 orange leaf bags full, I carry a hockey bag. I managed to get two 2x4 by 10' long with the seats down. My brother want to move a pool table. He has a Chev 1/2 club cab with a short box. he could not take the sides of the pool table in his truck. I said I take them for him. he laughed. I just snatched it from him with a cheesy grin. then his jaw hit the ground. now the cobalt is not a moving van but it is useful with what space your given. just wish the trunk opening was larger. hint hint GM.

Thankyou.

Well I started by getting the idea, found how much it would cost, picked up two extra shifts at the hospital and it was done the next week. $800.CDN. Do you have a color melt in your area. I recommend that. they repaint less parts of the car. Then I got a $20 dollar amplified antenna. it works well. to reduce costs I sold the wing. $220 cdn to me thank you. LOL. Ok so it not cheap but I really dont see another way unles you do relocate the bow tie. On a red car the bow tie just does not tie in well (no pun intended).

but thanks again. I think I will put the SS and supercharged emblems back on arranged like it is on the door in one corner of the trunk. any comments on that Idea?

Door poppers and lambo doors. if it works well then the handles will get shaved. this will be the very last mod I do on the car. I also am thinking of using the 9 piece AVS body kit like on the 272 SS sema car for 2004. I wont use all of it but most of it. I have many plans for the car.

TRU, I should have rephrased that I guess. The volume of the trunk is large, The access is not. I can just barely squeeze my clubs through. But once they are in they have all kinds of room

When I saw the trunk of my dads new G6 droptop though I felt a little better. With the top down you can fit like a box of pizza and a pair of gloves in that thing, lol.

No way in hell to get a set of clubs in it, they'd hafta ride in tha back seat, lol
