Smile Undecided! ::UPDATED::

Ok well now that my b-day is over (july 10th was my 21st) I have a few extra bucks. The things I plan on getting are armrest, gm pedals, short antenna, and tint. Here is where I need help.

The tint! I whent to Car Toys here in tulsa on 81st street and am setup to get my tint done tomorrow at 10 am I had setup 50% on the front and 5% on sides and back. Im now thinking that this might be to much. I was thinking about just getting nothing on the front and 18% on the sides and back.

I need to know what you guys think. Im driving my self crazy over here trying to figure out what to go for. I still want good visibility. But I want it to look nice also.

Thanks in advanced for the replys!

Ok I got back from tinting. ::drum roll:: ::cymbal smash:: I got 50% front window 5% sides and rear. WOW is it dark. Day time its damn nice. The ride home at 1 in the morn was a little dark but not bad.

Backing up is not bad as I open the door or roll down the window when I back up to make sure Im even with the lines anyways.

Well I will have pics up very soon. Anyone thinking about tinting. GO FOR IT! makes a huge diff as for looks and comfort. No more sun burns on my arms from driving down the road

I did 35% all the way around on my old Z24 and it looked solid. There was no darker transition from side to back which makes the car look sharp. You can still see in on sunny days but mostly shadows only. At night, 35% in the back is almost as dark as 5%. Plus, it's safer too since you can see better through a 35% tint at night - especially backing up!!!

I've got 17% on all side windows and the back and find that's more than dark enough at night. I keep praying no one runs out in front of my car from the side on some of the more poorly lit streets because everything just looks....black .

If my roomate was ever around I'd ask him to borrow his digi camera so you could get an idea of how it looks but I can't promise anything.

35% all around is a nice smoked look. my Lancer is 20%, but many times I find myself wishing it was only 35% like my old '00 Z24. I'd do 35% all around (minus windshield lol ) that way the cops leave you alone if you live in a gay state that only permits 50%.....grr Ohio

I ended up getting mine 15% all around and it looks great, a little dark at night (when in a dark area) but I'm in Orlando and it's nothing but lights 24/7 so it really isn't that bad!!!

How are some of you getting sub-20% all the way around and NOT getting pulled over for it? 6%? Isn't that pretty much the same as painting the window black?

the best rule of thumb in our area is to find a good shop that wont screw you over, or when your getting it done tell the shop you want a legal tint.

Also one of my cop friends said if you have someone hold a licencse up inside the car about 2 inches form the window you should be able to read it form the out side
