underbody glow installation?
Hey guys..
I have been thinking about getting an underbody neon kit installed. I have blue ender dash lights, and wanted to get blue underbody lights.. How hard are they to install yourself, or should you have a professional do it? I'm pretty mechanically inclined and as long as it's not hard and/or there is instructions, I'm good. lol. My friend did his on his Turdus, so I'm sure it's not hard. Also, what size tubes do you reccomend? I've got a coupe. I wasn't sure if the kits they sell at Advance/Pep-Boys would do the trick or not..
Thanks!!

its very easy. get a plug and play kit. not a kit that you have to wire each wire together. that's what i did, it's harder that way. plug and play kits are much easier. as he said, get LED's, not neons. all you really have to do it mount the bars under your car, make sure the wire is tight, then run power/ground/switch.

Just make sure you can't see any of the lights themselves, cause thats when they look like **** IMO.

Best for car lighting. They have forums and how-to's on how to install. I recomend the FlowLighting Single color if you just want blue. I've heard good things from it.

Here... Its not a how to, but, it should show you a decent amount about underbodies that I wrote up one day.

Well I think I'm gonna do this here soon. I went to the local shop yesterday and they had a kit there for 100. It's a kit with 2 4 foot tubes and 2 3 foot tubes as well as 2 extra 1 foot pieces. It's all LED's and it changes color/patterns with a switch. What I liked the most though was that there was no extra wiring needed. It all plugs into a cigarette outlet, like my other neons. So that is awesome.. Just mount the ****, tuck the wires, and you're golden. Plus I can test them right out of the box to make sure they work. My friend works there and can get me them for 80 instead of 100. So probably in a week or two go get them, then that time it'll be a little warmer and I can think about installing them.
what i did was drilled 4 holes on the front bumper brace and held the tube on with 2 zip ties per hold... same on the back.. as for the sides, i used short self tapping skrews and the tube straps that ussually come with the kits.. as for the controller, i drilled 2 holes in the spare tire tub and ran the 4 wires into the trunk, hooked up a spare wire and ran it under the trim on the drivers side to get it into the spare change holder and set up a switch and fuse in there... as for the wires under the car, i just tried to tie them to other parts underneath STAYING AWAY FROM THE EXHAUST... all of the wiring is invisible inside and out
