Fixed.

Why don't you order yours?

EDIT:
Just saw you're from OK, my cousin is there in Tulsa with his 2012 Scion TC special edition (the orange and black one)

We gotta wait another 15-20 days before they ship... (according to their FB anyways, said around Thanksgiving/beginning of December time frame for switchbacks)

Why would I order some when I can buy your old ones? and sounds nice I'm a big fan of orange and black. I'm about an hour and a half from Tulsa.

I'm iffy, but they look freaking awesome!

Okay, so possible dumb question. We pick the base for where they plug in, put them in the socket, and the wires hang loosely behind the headlight? Saw both video's, but just want to clarify.

Sounds that way. Also looks like base could be adjusted from socket to socket by moving a screw or two?

I'll post up more info when i get them.

Sounds good. The set I got off a member on here a few months back, the amber one's are starting to go. Think they were defective, but didn't show until I got them. They're type 2, which i like, but they sometimes act like type 1.... Idk, lol. Posted up a few questions on here, but no answer.

Also, think it was said earlier, but are resistors built in or not? If they are, will the ones I have tapped in to the harness effect it?

No, the resistors are not built in, and yes, the ones you have tapped in will work. They are working on plug-and-play ones that will work with these lights, but I don't see a need to buy a set if I already have a set wired in...

Now, if those somehow fail, I'd buy plug-n-play ones. V3 Triton seem to be "the next big thing" with V-LEDs, so hopefully they'll support it for a while, unlike a lot of their other awesome products that just disappeared (i.e. projection backup 921 bulb, V-HIDs, etc...)

mine did this.
told vleds they send me new ones out. and even those did it.
only one side tho. i would have the turn signal on and there would stil be a few white that stay lit up. weird as hell

these new ones will require resistors correct? they look nicer too!
I got the V1 Switchbacks and have the same issue with the passenger side. It seems as if it is affected when in TPMS programming, like the current is high enough when the horn beeps and light flashes it burns out some of the LED's. Some are hit or miss some days. All resistors are wired correct also. Tried dielectric grease and pulling the tabs out to make better contact with the bulb wire harness. No dice. I do like the new V3's. Hopefully this issue will be solved in the newer bulbs.

Will wait for y'all to get these and comment on their brightness/quality because that's what matters. I wish they'd do those videos outside in sunlight. Any LED will look bright indoors.

I've had the older (7 watt) ones as rear signals and they're as bright as they were on day 1, as you see here...

Since Vleds doesn't want to reply to my email, I will probably wait and see how everyone else likes these before ordering. Specifically, I am curious as to how well they will seal to the lamp housing. From the pics its looks iffy

i was looking at pre-ordering these as well but in the drop down menu for resistors it asks 2LED conversion or 4 LED conversion? What is the difference?

Higher resistance for one of the choices since you're taking out two incandescent bulbs instead of one.

From my experience though, I had to install one in each corner of the car. I installed only two in the front first (yes, correct type :-)) - it caused hyper flash. Moved them to the back two - same thing. Put a resistor in each corner - hyper flash is gone.

Might have something to do with our turn signals being controlled by our ECM (no flasher relay for us)

Prob what causes the Type 2 LED's to act like Type 1s, but I wonder if my rear LED brake lights and little LED mod have some effect to it as well.

Hmm... Weird. My type 2s work properly. And I have K2 LED tails.... What other LED mods are you talking about?

I have the X like led tail lights. Non smoked kind, but JM Auto Racing has them. As for other mods, I have a setup like a pick up truck led light bar. No resistors in the rear though, but the LED tails have resistors built in. Ill make this more interesting. They work fine in the dark. No issues at all. But during the day is when they do the type 1 flashing. It happens after I've been driving it for a while, not instinally. Idk what's up with them. They're doing it after I start up in the day now. Debating on getting the the V3 now.

What resistors do you have? And what's there to debate? I'd get them, but if I was you, I'd also order their plug and play resistors to make sure it's not your resistors that are screwing everything up. I can't wait for them to ship mine.

I bought the LED's off a guy here. He suggested I get this for the resistors: 3 OHM 50W 4 BULB LOAD EQUALIZER RESISTORS LED TURN SIGNAL BLINKER FIX | 1 PAIR

I then though that I had the wrong one's from some research and got these: 6 OHM 50W 2 BULB LOAD EQUALIZER RESISTORS LED TURN SIGNAL BLINKER FIX | 1 PAIR

AFter that, I went and talked to V-LED and they said that the bulbs might be defective. I only have 1 6OHM resistor per bulb. I can take pics of my setup if that helps in figuring this out (and i'm sorry for thread jacking).

More than likely, I'll get the new one's before they go up to $140. Let me ask/state this before I go spending more money and end up with the same issue.

1) I'm going with the 6K setup to match my HID's. We have the 3157 bulbs, correct?
2) For the add resistors, am I going to go with the 2 or 4 LED Conversion?
3) Do I leave the 6OHM resistors tapped in to the turn signal or remove them?

  1. Yes, 3157 for the front markers/turn signals
  2. You would want 4 LED conversion resistors ONLY IF your rear ones are LED
  3. No, I wouldn't keep the resistors that you have in. I'd go with a fresh set up if my previous setup was causing problems..
