I have had my SS/SC Cobalt for 3 months now & the lower Valance or rocker panel has cracked on the drivers side right at the wheel well & my dealer said this is a reacuring problem.

They are covering it as a defect as there are no scratches & I did not hit anything and since, they have had to order 4 different times from GM due to the new ones are warped in the middle so they feel they won't mount without leaving a gap in the center of the panel.

It makes me wonder how GM could have such crap for venders that produce ther plastic ?

I have seen nothing posted on the forum about this & wondered if my dealer is just BSing me about getting the part but they have always treated me right & I have a service tech that I have always delt with that is great, so I thought I's post this to warn you all to check the corner of your rocker panels where they are molded to match your wheel well!

 

when i got my front ss bumper and valence for my cobalt i had the same problem but on my passenger side up front their. Its not really noticable so i didnt really care.

 

It's too bad but at least they are trying to fix it for you..

 

Yea I'm some what connected with this dealer as far as service & like I said they have taken care of me before on my 1999 Tahoe I bought an extended warranty & then I supercharged it my self & a year later the transfercase went out & they replaced it under warranty at a tune of $1500

I'm a nut about my rides & how they look so I want no dings dents or scratches so a cracked rocker panel is a NO NO !!!! I have a couple chips on the front of the hood & I'm getting it fixed & then having the invisa bra installed.
