Windshield replacement...

OK... I was at my parents' house for Thanksgiving and like a dumb a** I left the heat on in my car. Started it up and got a crack about four inches long from the end on the passenger side. Haven't replaced it yet, so of course it has grown about a foot and mysteriously made a 45 deg turn downward... Anyway, we all know about the dot matrix border... Should I take it to the dealer for replacement or somewhere else? I'm not sure if I take it somewhere else it will be the same glass with the border... Suggestions?

I actually install windsheilds and all the other glass on a car for a living. A new windshield will have the dot matrix on it as well. I do not beleive that there is an aftermarket window for it yet. You can go to any glass company, you will most likely get an actual chevy window. DO NOT GO TO THE DEALER!!!! the dealer will charge many times more than what a glass company will.

Yeah man, i had my windshield completely ripped apart because some moron left about a foot of snow/ice on there roof, of course i was in opposite lanes at the right time as wind blew the ice off of hsi vehicle and into my windhsield....long story short dealer asked for 550$ and had it done for 400$ for teh exact same window
