Cobalt SS/TC - Brembo Autocross/Track pads

Hi everyone

I've been in touch with Cobalt Friction and they have agreed to fabricate some pads for our cars. I spoke with them directly and they are planning on producing pad compounds XR1 and XR2. Pad compound descriptions can be found here.

http://www.cobaltfriction.com/compounds/

I've posted a poll to make it easier to track the needs we have for brake pads.

I'm dealing with my local dealer, Soulspeed Performance in Austin, TX They will offer a group buy if we can get enough purchases through them. We'd need at least five to get a group buy. Please PM me for more details and I'll get us connected with them.

I sure hope you guys make some pads that reduce the brake dust!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or at least turn it white or something like that!

Okay I was at the track last weekend and definitely need some upgraded pads. These are easily overheated.

Hope you all are voting. The minimum order for these pads, front and rear is 10 sets - so far we have a bit a ways to go :-)

For those that voted if you want multiple sets that would help getting them to market.

Are these TRACK track pads, like they have to be worked to get heat in them??

I'd maybe be interested in a good pad for Autocross, but have yet found anything that beats my current setup and still can be used good on the street.

I just want rear Cobalt GT's...The "old" compound like they used to have for the Miata's a few years back. That was a PERFECT autox pad for the rear of that car to balance the F/R balance out.
For autox, the new SS needs more rear bias too

me personally would rather have a pad that is good under all conditions then a pad that is ultimate at one and poor in the others.

the stock pads work great all around; just put in some superblue or motul 600. If you have some extra cash drop in Castrol SRF and you'll get great results from the stock brake setup.

Those are all DOT4 brake fluids, FYI.

As for the cobalt XR1/XR2s those will be great for straight line and trail-braking on road courses.

I'll check with Cobalt Friction to see if they can fab up some rear pads, it looks like there is a wanting for a GT-sport compound for the rears. That would be a good rear set for XR1 fronts setup, I assume.

Thanks for your votes and don't hesitate to vote if you haven't already. It's open for 90 days :-)

Thanks

JK

I am sure those are good friction compound for track, but not sure about street use and usually they are pretty hard on rotors. Hawks HP+ would be I'd use for both street and track.
