E85 Track Days
Track season is going to kick off soon up here in the North East.
Anyone run e85 ? Im looking to switch buy i plan on doing 3-4 track days over the course of the year. In NJ there are hardly any stations so im not trying to go out of my way for some fuel. I would have to bring some with me, but how much ?? and what is the best way to transport it ... legally as possible lol
I need to know if its worth it or not.
any input would be great.

I run on E85 all the time, and do track days.
I'm in Chicago, so this doesn't really help... Anyways, just look and see if the tracks you are going to are near any. I luck out, and all of mine are within like 10 minutes of some.
I still take a 5 gal can of it along with me, since I go through it so fast. I just use a normal gas can(well, plastic thing. whatever), which technically should be green, to show it as E85. But I've never seen one.
I generally use 1/4 to 1/2 a tank per session, and I never go out on track with less than 3/4 full.

yea unfortunately there are not e85 stations near where the track is in NJ so i have to bring some with me from NY. Its about an hour drive, so i basically need to bring a shittt ton of gas lol ... our tanks are like 10 gal right?
1/2 tank per session plus the trip there and back lol
Johnathan- right now mods are in my sig, but in a few weeks ill be on a 2.8 pulley and maybe E85 ... still debating it.
I just wish there was a station within 10miles from the track

E85 will give you more power throughout the entire powerband. proven. That being said if its not convenient its a total pain in the ass to find. Ive almost found myself out of gas because they sometimes run out and the stations can be hard to find on a trip. Even though it is pretty plentiful in MI. Ive even had to wait for a half hour at a station waiting for the E85 truck to get there. As for just using it on the track... It can be done but switching back and forth on tunes requires you to completely drain the tank. So not fun. If you cant use it all the time it might not be worth it. just my $.02 but good luck with whatever you choose.

Johnathan, sounds good ill let you know when im all set.
Ill have to look at the map i think newark is futher south of e-town. not sure how far away tho.
I will be running e85 all year long... there are plenty of stations here on LI so that wont be an issue. Its just i want to start tracking the car at e-town, cuz its the closest track to me and there lies the issue lol
