Deposit-Wait-LSD for SS S/C

1) hey guys, Im ordering my SS next week and was curious before i get to the dealer how much is the deposit for ordering. As well is there anything that i should know that might help me out getting my car faster as well not getting screwed by the dealer?

2) Also how long was the wait or how long has the wait been?

3) Anyone try to order with the LSD option?

1) I had to put $1000 down. I dont know how easy its going to be to get an SS now.. my dealer told me its brutal to get one, let alone one you want. I went through two color changes to get a SS

2) I ordered mine yesterday... I was told arrival was may
3) Didnt even think of trying to get the LSD cause i heard they are not offering the package as of yet until they get a grip on how popular the SS will be then we may be able to order it

1. When I ordered I put down 500, 2000 at time of purchase
2. Depending on color, Mine took right at 8-9 weeks.
3. the performance option (LSD and Recaro seats) wasnt aviable. I dont regret it getting. Unless you plan on racing it or whatever I dont think you should need. just my opion.

I can't really help you with how much you should put down or a delivery date because I got an exclusive deal through overseas military, but I'd think on a $20,000 car 2-3k would be a good number to start with, 5k even better. Course, this all depends on your credit as well.

The package with Recaro seats and LSD are an available option, but at a $1400 pricetag. I don't know about you but they can keep the seats, and chances are I'll be getting the same if not a better LSD for far less than $1400. And I'll get to keep the 2 tone leather seating.

Hey, I'm US Military as well - ordered my Cobalt SS from OMSC on 2/28/05. Unfortunately, I had to put $1,000 down as well, due to the fact that I ended up getting the G85 option (LSD/Recaro), but before that it was only $300 down.

If you guys were wondering what kind of LSD the G85 comes with: It's a Quaife LSD. I was able to get that information at least... And the retail of one of the few Quaife LSDs I've seen on the net alone is around $800 - $1400, so we might really be getting a deal of Seats/LSD for $1400!
