Oct. 23 Meet suggestion!!!

I really want to run at the strip one last time before the snow comes so instead of having the meet in London which hasn't got much response, I'm thinking of having the meet at Cauga (Toronto motorsports park) on the 23rd. I will be there for sure all day as my intake and exhaust will be installed. What do y'all think? I'll be there regardless so if you want to hear what a slightly juiced up SS sounds like then be there!

If we did decide to go with this idea I would have to let you guys know last minute next week since that's a two hour drive from my place in the north of London...I should move to the south . Assuming the weather is ok, a number of other people are up for it and we all agree to cancel the London meet I'll consider it but I won't be signing up officially until late next week to be sure I can make it.

S**T, I'll be in Philly that weekend. Driving the SS down there for a good run and Gambling in Atlantic City!!! I seem to be quite good at roulette and the other two times I've been there it has paid for my whole vacation!!!!!

Well just went to my service department about my broken shift knob and it's going to take a week or so to ship it in from the US. They were told it might come in late Friday but if not Monday or Tuesday of next week for sure. I'm not sure if I'll be making it out since I don't feel 100% comfortable taking the car on the highway in case the temporary fix decides to let go at the wrong time...I'll let you know later on this week if it happens to come in early .

It seems that this CEL thing is kind of a problem but not really. The MAF sensor is detecting lots more airflow and GM put such tight tolerances in the PCM that any variance will set it off. It is a lean condition code and at worst all the car does is give more fuel to compensate. An intake will NEVER give enough air to lean out a motor to the point something bad happening. The only way around it is to get a tech 2 scanner from a GM tech and he has to reset the tolerances and take the car for a drive to give the MAF new parameters. I'm trying to convince one of the techs at my buddy's dealership to do just that but I doubt he will cause if GM finds out he messed with it he's out of a job. We can all thank GM for electronically neutering their "performance" car
