*update*

The Blizzak Revo 1's are $1003 and the M3's are $942 from my supplier. Those prices are per car taxes in, regardless of # of vehicles.

Hey Player_1, since you so kindly offered to help others at the beginning of this thread, I desperately need wheels/tires for my SS this winter. I'm in Winnipeg,MB and so far the cheapest quote I have for a package puts me into the $1200-1300 range. How do I go about getting these here in the middle of nowhere..MB.

I am still going with the place Player1 originally contacted. They are actually just up the road from me, they are very knowledgeable and very reasonably priced.. For the extra 50 dollars or so I might be saving going with the other guy that posted here, I will take the convienance of A)Knowing they are already in stock and B)Knowing they are just up the road. I am going with the Winterforce tires....... ALSO, Canadian tire can get the rims now, they are priced around 88 dollars per rim I believe, I called them the other day and they have a new listing for the Cobalt SS/SC. You would be better off goign to canadian tire, getting the rims locally and saving the shipping costs!

Cheers!

hey Jason

I talked with john and I'm sure he'll give you the same price for the winterforce's you wanted.
just tell him that Edward Pinto sent you.

SSmokincoupe: I'd have to know what your address is, in order to give an idea what shipping will cost

Hey Eddie, since it all fell apart, I had Shawn call today and he spoke to the owner, he is going to give me the tires and rims for what gateway would pay for them. I am going Saturday morning to pick up the tires and rims...

Thanks a lot for the heads up, that's a new listing cause a month ago they had nothing. For anyone thinking of getting these from Candian Tire, I just called and was informed the steelies for our cars are on back-order with no estimated date.

My guy is a major tire supplier for all tire shops in the GTA, They are a major distributor for all the major tire places. It doesn't really matter as far as where others buy, I'm just trying to help out anyone who needs tires. I can actually get a better deal if I get a major GP.

Group purchases are always great if people can actually put the money where their mouths are. You get a list, then people back out etc etc. Sometimes its not worth the hassle. I have arranged to get mine on saturday, 50 bucks either way, im not really concerned about it. But everyone appreciates your efforts im sure as we all want the best price possible...

Steel wheel part number

For all you guys that put 16'' steel wheels to replace the 18'' P-Zero for winter...

What is the manufacturer's name and part number for your wheels.

So far I have got these:

Macpeck's X41658 at CDN$89.99
Macpeck's X42653 at CDN$ 99.99

and Palmer's 99-128 at CDN$59.95-69.95

If anyone from the group buy can verify those so I can skip the fitting session and got right at ordering my winter wheels and tires.

Thanks

UPDATE - Apparantley the 16" x 6.5" winter wheel listed by Candian Tire for the Cobalt SS/SC is actually the WRONG bolt pattern for our cars, they're actually a 5x115 NOT 5x110. I haven't yet gotten mine in to verify this but I've heard it from a few sources. This explains why they were listed for the cheap price of $89.99 while everyone else is asking $100+

Just a heads up.

Here are the prices i got from my source.

Hey Corby, Mark here, the size we should do on the 4x100 Cobalts is a 195/60R15 with a 15" steel. Here's how it breaks down:

Michelin x-ice w/steels - $883.20 tax in
Conti TS810 - $722.20 tax in
Blizzak WS-50 - $915.40 tax in
Hankook W404 - $676.20 tax in

For the SS we have to stick with 205/55R16 and the odd bolt pattern of 5x110 which will drive the price up.

Michelin x-ice w/steels - $1196.00 tax in
Conti TS810 - $938.40 tax in
Blizzak WS-50 - $1251.20 tax in
Hankook W300 - $869.40 tax in

I got the Dunlop Winter Sport M3 thay are the best winter performance tire on the market and they where cheaper the it's top 3 competitors.

you could also go with a strict winter tire with a bit better snow tracktion, but you sacrifice ride quality, and both wet and dry traction.

you best bet is to got to Tire Rack and compare all the tires and see what suits you best

Finally went this morning to try 2 sets of the 16'' wheels listed for the Cobalt SS here is the result

Palmer 99-128 at 59.99 DO NOT FIT

MACPECK X41658 GOOD FIT BUT THIGHT...stock calipers are very close...but since I only got 5000 km on it there shouldn't be any problem when I replace the front pads.

so I went with these rims at $82 and with the Dunlop M3.

Dunlop M3 backorder

I was told by my dealer that the Dunlop M3 are back-order since april for all the supply chain (garge, resellers, etc) There is no date for shipping....

Have anyone of you got actual confimation for the M3's???

What other tire would be a good choice for replacing the M3 (Eagle Ultragrip, Michelin Pilot PA2, other??) in 205/60R16 with an H or better speed code?
