Anyone know the dead cost of these? What do you folks pay per month on these cars if you dont mind me asking. The car's for my old man, he's looking to downscale and possibly get rid of his LS4.

I bought mine used with 10k miles on it for $13000. The guy who traded it in burned up the clutch so it had a brand new one. That's the only problem it had. I pay $258 a month. Used is the way to go on these.

 

He burned up the clutch beating the crap out of the engine.

Used is NOT the way to go on almost any performance vehicle.

Your payments will go buy. How many months you go to finance it and your credit score. The higher your score the better interest rate you will get. Also most used performace cars have been **** kicked, and out of warrenty so all repairs will come out of your pocket. Don't know about in the USA but right know in Canada if you have a high score you can finance a brade new SS/TC over 84 monthes for $351 a month with GM discounts.

The problem is with these "I pay xxx a month" posts is that it doesn't include ANY details. How much did you put down, what was your total cost, HOW MANY months are the payments for, does it include gap insurance, etc.

Umm, financing anything for 84 months is ridiculous. Period. Even if it maintains its resale value like gold.

I pay $300 a month, for 60 months at 5.1%.

Look, Sorry for just coming to frank for some of you, ok. There that out of the way. Now, I just have never seen that it was possible to take out a loan for "84 months" only to lower your payments but fork over more to the bank in interest over that time period. I too was lucky enough by the grace of God, to have paid off my car in full, but not lucky enough to prevent myself from crashing it. In a matter of 10 month ladies and Gents I went from paying 23K(Aug 2008) to getting from the insurance 15K back for what it was valued at.

Anything over 72 month with an interest rate of 6% or above is the reason why bankers should get smacked for approving such non sense! When I see a pizza boy coming to deliver my pizza in an STI, I then can come to understand why this great American Economy is doing as good as it is. I was only reacting to this in reading why people will do or accept whatever offer just to have something that, really if you think about it, they can't even afford. I think that we should go back to when credit cards first started showing up in the 80's and the rules were, that if you couldn't back up the amount you would use with your card with what was in your bank account, Transaction Failed!

No problem, and no more imput except for. I know about the only good thing about the Cobalt SS/TC is that its fast and has a good engine, and the car has a shity resale value and a nice way to say not to high a quality econobox car.

i paid $24,700 out the door last year when gm was going under. i got the rpd, limited slip, usb radio and highrise in my package. i don't know if they offer the same deals now as they did last year. hope that helps.
