Fried MAF sensor

hey there,

I have a cold air in my cobalt ss/sc and i have fried my maf sensor somehow. havn't gone through and big puddles or exsessive water and somehow its gotten messed up. anyways if anyone has had a similar problem please let me know

sometimes the oil from the filter can do this, how much for a new MAF???

Do this. Run down to Pep Boys or Autozone, whatever parts place you have near you and buy a can of MAF Cleaner. It's a spray can.

Unclip the MAF and remove it from the intake.

Spray every part of the MAF for about 30 seconds.

Put it back in and whahlah. You should be good to go.

It worked wonders for me.

this same thing happened to me im still not aware of what happened, but i had to buy a new one it was around 120 something with tax, will your car atleast start? cause mine would not

I keep getting a random CEL. It goes on when I accelerate....stays on for about 20KM, then dissappears for 3-7 days. I think it might be an exhaust sensor since I had my flex pipe replaced a month or two ago.

or i fyou have an intake youll get them ive gotten them like that since i put it on

i had the same problem, was caused by the oil on my k&n filter. i used rubbing alcohol and paper towels to clean it and it's good as new now.

before you cleaned it up was your car runnin like **** and what was it doing????

ran like crap, would break up at high rpms kinda it was misfiring. would get a blinking cel but it would not store a code. finally it stored a code and it was for the maf. i cleaned it and the car runs perfect now. no stuttering or breaking up, and most importantly no cel.

just finished mine,took it around the block, had the same problems as you now they are gone,thanks

mine maf got this way from hanging around a shop for 2 months disconnected collecting who knows what
