Hey Wes and Ryan and Sean, thanks for the very enlightening conversation!!!! I will certainly take very different steps in modifying from now on! It's great to get everyone's EXPERIENCE and KNOWLEDGE in a nice discussion and come up with some great ideas. That's prompted me to map out the best possible modification list for the SS/SC. I've started scribbling down stuff here : http://wpg27ss.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=84 and I'll just keep on at it until it looks perfect!

Wes: Here is the info I promised:
Pricing: http://www.websitetoolbox.com/tool/p...ost?id=2214637
Company: http://www.stiegemeier.com/
Pics: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l-lsj-performance-tech-47/stiegemeier-ported-m62-before-after-81643/ (Ryan, you can see the Dual Pass Option B surge tank installed in this guys pics)

So.. my baby went back under the knife today.
Took the shop forman out for a drive today. His reaction to the sound was "Wow.. that must annoy the hell out of you." So, he definitely knows it's there. I don't think he knows what it is though...

They're also going to fix my shift knob cap (finally, lol), the squeak that the back seats are making, and the sunroof switch.

Wow, that S/C is ported right out. That's intense! I'm not sure I would get the exterior polished though. As nice as the engine dressup looks, it's to much to maintain.

I'll have to check out that list and put in my comments/crits. It was a good long conversation last night. I had a good time.

Yah that was a good meet, next time we should go for a cruise somewhere where we can all park together without minivans and get some good photos.

best was that eagle talon that told me his buddies 08 SS 2.4 has a supercharger kit and he dynoed 490 WHP...and his talon beat that cobalt...uhh huh...im know 2.4 expert (lol sure i am) but i am pretty damn positive there is no "supercharger Kit" avabile, the only thing known for supercharing 2.4's is with the eaton and that gives you maybe 240 whp

Hey Ryan, I hope that you can get all those noises fixed! I should complain about the back seat rattle - especially if they can fix it!

Yeah, I can give you the Ronald Jenkees MP3s if you want, but it's cheap online too:
http://ronaldjenkees.com/music-store/
I love watching him groove - can't wait for his next CD!

You'll have to let me know what that frikin rattle int the back seat is, lol.

Oh, and last night Wes drove my car and visa-versa. I think I learned a few things about how to drive my car now lol....

lol

the rattle is the seat latch (the latch the locks the back seat in place and opens to let the back seat fold down). Put tape on it and the sound goes away. It did with mine anyway.

and wes really wants LSD now thanks to you ...

So, I can happily report that the noises are gone! I don't have the car back yet though...

Air rush from under dash:
Turns out I was right, something came loose. They said it was the main rubber gasket for the steering column itself had come out completely. Took them no time at all to get that corrected.

Sqeak from back seat:
Dane was spot on, this one is a known issue on the 05-06 Cobalts. I believe there is actually a recall listed on this forum about it somewhere. The latch on the rear seat is a bit loose and rubs together on the hook thing that connects to it. The Dealership applies a foam to the latch to eliminate any noise. The 07's came with the fix from factory.

Sunroof Switch intermittence:
Known issue as well. They say they see this all the time on all Cobalt trim levels. The bezel itself breaks on the inside of the headliner, and this causes the switch to not work correctly.

Shift knob cap missing:
Happens somewhat often apparently. They do not have the caps available, GM does not offer them this way. They apparently had to order the entire shifter which will be in tomorrow.

I'm excited.
