it's a three hour one way drive;
lets say gas is $10/hr (which last time I checked it was quite a bit less than);
@ 6 hours we're looking at $60;
bringing these over the border you have to pay tax;
since I'm an Albertian, and I would be bringing into Alberta (from Montana), I only pay the 5%(GST);

Using Discount Tire Direct numbers - picking up in person;
$604usd = (@1.01482)$612.95cnd
$612.95 x 1.05 = $643.60
(plus Gas)
$643.60 = $703.60

Using Discount Tire Direct numbers - shipping to me, manually removing all "extras";
$604usd tires
$160usd 'Canadian Tariff fees'
------------
$764.00usd
$764 x 1.01482 = $775.32cnd

I'm still seeing a $72 savings here...

Does anyone have any opinions on the warranty that they're trying to push?

72/6=12.

Your saying your time is worth 12 dollars a hour?

To each their own.

Frankly I would spend the $72, to get it sent to my place just for the convenience of it. 6 hours isnt just a drive. its a wait at the border, maybe a hassle ( my buddy who goes to the border here to pick stuff up for people is getting hassled more and more). and there migh be more costs last **** i had picked up there had duty charged against the shipping cost as well WTF. 6 hours to me is a day at the lake relaxing with friends and family.

Ya the border is getting stupid with stuff. Mike's buddy picked up my ZZP resonator. I made ZZP put MADE IN USA in big black letters across the box. It's $119. They still charged me $25 on it. Hell Mike your stuff was like what, $15? And they still charged you. Unreal.

That's GST man. You pay GST on everything, including the cost of shipping the item to a location in the U.S. Its the law.

Being made in North America excludes it from Duty, Which is a seperate set rate (typically 6%)

what was the shipping on the entire order? beause you pay GST on shipping also.

not to mention, you technically need a NAFTA in order to claim no duty on items. Yeah i agree its stupid as **** but without that paper they could charge you duty.

They never did before, but maybe they have been told to crack down on punks like you smuggling in fact stamped goods haha

Hey guys i have a couple things for sale. Looking for local sale as shipping usually ends up being to the us and therefore a small fortune.

1)tinted coupe tail lights including third brake light. The reverse light is still clear on them. Not a super dark tint. I can send pics via email or text with my username and what not but I can't post them on here from my phone. Make me an offer. Untinted tails usually go for about 100 and I paid 100$ to tint them. Third brake lights are usually 30-40$ and that's untinted. I can install them for you which can be worked out. Make me an offer... Reasonable offer Jordan.

TINTED

UNTINTED

TINTED

2)3" turbo XS catback exhaust for the LNF (SS turbo) it can be modified to fit all models (replacement flange for downpipe). This is one of the best sounding exhausts for the SS IMO. its not super loud but has a really nice deap note to it. Doesn't get loud till you boost hard.
It cost almost 700$ shipped to Canada and has Only 3-5k on it. It looks emaculate and has not seen a winter. all installation hardware comes with it and is a bolt on set up so no welding.
475obo.

It was pretty freaking humid here last night!

I rolled down the windows upon entering headingly, and almost instantaneously my whole body started sweating..
