Mike is right, it might not be the tune but maybe Vince has a idea whats causing the problem if we datalog.

Could be a bunch of things causing it to die.

 

have you considered stepping down to the GM S2 injectors?

the fuel tables are all there - and everyone I've read of running the GMS3 was plenty happy...

If I'm correct OE pully's are;
stock = 79mm
stage 2 = 77.9mm
stage 3= 76mm

my online conversion puts the 76mm at 2.9 ~ but maybe you would know if your pulley is in fact smaller than this...

I'm just thinking out loud, and trying to give you an alternative to get your car running better...
if nothing else you can probably pick up used GM stage parts for pennies on the dollar in the classifieds, put that stuff on, and run the GMS3 tune for winter - then when it warms up, get things sorted out with the parts you would rather run...

Nah the black soot is normal. You are going to get it with any car. That's wired. It's like it's over fueling when you are off the gas. Your wideband should be reading lean coming to a stop not rich. The joys of mods haha.
