Don't forget that ontop of the 12,000 or whatever you'll get with a dealer trade-in, They must give you your 14% back. $1680, not a whole lot more but still adds some to the value. Makes you think twice about options to, 98% of these places don't give a **** if you spent $1500 on the G85 package or $1100 on a sunroof, they will still view it as a base model SS-SC.

Heres my example: July 2005 I bought a 05 Corolla "S", Auto, Power windows/locks, yada, yada... I paid 20,400 and ended up like 24,300 with taxes or some ****. Now I go to trade it in with 38,000kms for a cobalt well they offer me 14,250 with taxes in. Thats a $10,000 loss. Now as I leave the dealership I see a 05 Corolla "S" with 57'000kms for 18,900? That really makes me wonder but anyways....
So you got your 05 Cobalt that was 22,100 before you put your accessories on and such, Now they're giving you 12,000? Still a 10,000 loss.... You still will get that extra 2 - 3 grand for selling privately, because if the dealer takes it for 12,000 you know that there going to sell it for 15,000 and the buyer will have to pay tax on that. I dont see much difference in the depreciation value other than the dealer will more likely mark an import at a higher cost.

BTW Toyota has junk customer service as well.. Went from 04 Sunfire, To 05 Corolla, and now back to try domestic once more (They discontinued the RSX-S).... I had tons of problems with Autoline Toyota here in Niagara Falls. And some more recently with Peformance Group in St. Catharines. Being a member of a corolla forum as well I've heard tons of other problems. Toyota cats are trash and always burn-out, I'd say 45% of people expierence transmission problems, etc.... The list doesn't end with these garbage Corollas.

Best of luck with your Z but seriously man the dealers in Canada must suck ass cause all I hear from you guys is how bad they are. Its a shame GM's not that bad but when you have nothing but problems from the dealers what are you supposed to think.

Also the reason the trad in sucks for our cars is everyone figures they're gonna get ragged out hard and just be beaten up on. Couple that with the fact that its basicly an economy car and its a wonder why any dealer would even take em in trade at all!

I don't want to get in a pissing match but my wife who does not baby, and in fact is quite hard on her 2005 Malibu LS, just crossed 50,000 miles (approx. 80,000km) on the original brakes. They are still working fine and I just inspected them after rotating the tires and there is a considerable amount of pad and rotor left, so 104,000kms isn't really that big of a deal. Anyways, if you want a 350z then get one, and the best of luck with it.

I hate Z's....they sound like complete horse shat. The exhaust note reminds me of Chewbaka singing a song he doesn't know. Just doesn't sound like a nice car. Z's aren't much to look at imo. My friend just ditched his Z for a S2k. He said it was a pos to mod and there were problems as well. You see, no matter where you go to buy a car. There will always be minor problems. You show me a car company that has no problems with their cars what so ever...i'd be impressed. My friend was gona boost his Z but it turned out to be wayy pricey and didn't add tooo much power for what u get in the kit. Instead he rocking a comptech s/c'd s2k. Don't just punk cobalts cause they are american and have problems...well honestly i make fun of american cars too but that's besides the point...the point is....Z's suck...but something else...hahaha jkz jkz...who cares...find something you'll love and enjoy..

My first (and only) brake job was pads on for a 2001 Cavalier and was done at 120,000 km. I researched the dealers and looked up the customer satisfaction numbers for service, and not just if the sales person was hot, or offered a 'deal' on undercoating or something like that. The cars are as reliable in general as imports, cheaper, and have equivalent fuel consumption.

Individual vehicles and dealers vary. Shop around for a while.

so you think buying a nissan you want be going to the dealer for any proplems. nissan just had to recall the 2.5L motor because can go up in flames. and my grandparents altima 1998 is nothing but a pos! it leak ever fluid in its motor water comes threw the window paint fade off it. its got 67K on it with all them proplems and my old sunfire was a 2001 with 92K on it and i never had it in the shop for warrenty work at all. and i bought it used from a chevy dealer got the longer warrenty and still never used it. so just because you have proplems with a cobalt you think all american cars are junk? imports are not gods gifts they have proplems also.
