Southern Ontario Folks... come on in
I'm noticing the strong smell of fuel after each time I fill up.
I've heard of , as I'm sure many of you have heard as well, that GM put some cheap quality components to manage fuel out of the fuel tank via their "fuel module" or something stupidly called other than a fuel pump and stuff... and that prolonged heat accelerates the deterioration of the components.
My initial call to GM was met with a "your vin doesn't register, sorry"... after they pretended that they had never heard of the recall which started down south and moved its way all around.
Transport canada says it's not a common problem in Canada and are aware of it... and the option to make a repair under the coverage available in the states is at their discretion.
I wonder if any of you have been able to get the repair done when your VIN is *not* on the list.
If you've dealth with a dealership that has worked with customers to fix this, I'd love for your insights.
I'm in Rob Ford country so let me know your experiences.

the labour for diagnosis and repair is around 2 hours...

In canadian dollars, it's way too much.
GM Canada is pretending that it's a non-issue
