I'm not a runner like allot of guys. Just don't have the extra cash right now to tune it up. But I never use regular gas in my Yellow Beast. NEVER!

Tune for 91, that way you never screw yourself by not having the minimum octane rating.

it really wont matter, the worst thing that will happen if you tune for 94 and put in 91 is that you'll get a few degrees of knock and your timing will be retarded by a few degrees to combat it.

if you have a good tune with aggressive KR attack rates you really wont run into trouble running 91 gas on a 94 tune, you will however lose power if you're getting KR.

that being said, a car with a 91 tune using 91 gas and no KR will probably be faster than a car with a 94 tune using 91 gas and getting KR.

just think if you need the extra hassle of getting to a sunoco to fill up, i did that for a while and it was pretty annoying, especially for drives outside of the gta

just my 2 cents

another option is to always keep a couple of bottles of octane booster. and tune for 94.

but I think I'd rather tune for 91 even tho I still put 94 religiously.
give Paul meister a call ask for his opinion, this way when you get your car tuned you can make sure you have a couple of tanks filled with only 91

it just seems like a pain in the butt, for instance, when we all go to kingston and maybe we need to gas up on the way home or something, if i tune for 94 i dont wanna worry about finding a sunoco or putting in random octane booster or even having a few jugs of 94 in the trunk swaying this way and that in the trunk.

DO NOT USE OCTANE BOOSTER! It will gunk up ur engine and fuel. Besides...running 91 oct + octane booster will NOT bring it to 94 octane or even close to that. In reality, when they say it raises it xx amount of points. its not the number of octane...its point of an octane...so you'll really just get 91oct+Octane booster= 91.8 octane depending on what booster you use.

so the best and logical thing would be to tune for 91 even though 94 will show a bit more in gains, 91 just makes more sense.
also when it comes time to tune i guess id have to drive till my cars pertty much empty since i use 94 and filler up with 91.

I'd run 91 for a tank or two b4 tuning just to be sure. But I don't see probs with 94 oct. I'm using a 93/94oct. map and I have no problems finding a Sonoco. I find that in the GTA there are tons of Sonoco's around. i wouldn't worry about not finding a Sonoco around. Don't be a wuss! run the 94 haahha!

Hey guys, sorry I have not been on much but things have been insane at the shop. Without reading the entire thread I will make my suggestions

1. If you can't guarntee you can always keep 94 in it, tune it for 91. The 10whp or so is not worth risking any damage

2. For the person who said they were tuned for 110, because he was running meth...what happens when your meth runs out, or the pump fails? Second, how do you know it is 110octane? No one actually knows the octane of a petrol/water/meth mix

3. This is the beauty of something like the SCT Xcal...you have a hand held device with multiple programs for various octane ratings. Upgrades from our HP tuners stuff will be made available when the time is ready

So, run 91 if you cant guarntee you will only put 94 in it. If you think it is worth the whp, and the trouble to find 94 it is up to you. Greed kills motor
If you are making big boost, i would say run at least 94 octane and nothing less. Running meth on the street with high boost is also suggested
I feel 16-17psi is the max boost to run on straight pump gas

ummm.. because I"m runnin a tune I did with 110... and timing is staying the same... no KR and I have a light for the fluid level and the pump... so if it it fails... I don't floor it and retune..

If you are running timing for 94 octane, and not 110 then you did not really tune it for 110. If that pump fails during a WOT pull, it will be to late if your AFR was 12.0 when spraying the meth

If you leave timingf for pump gas, and tune the AFR to about 11..5 you will be fine. This way if the meth fails, you are still safe
