Alberta Show & Shine -- September 9th

As some of you know, my father, Lorne Romaniuk was diagnosed with cancer in September of 2005 at 51 years of age. After a few short months battling the disease, he passed away on January 18th, 2006. Thirty years earlier, my grandfather opened Romaniuk Chevrolet in Leduc, Alberta. My father began working immediately in the family business as a salesman having just graduated from NAIT with a business degree. He would later go on to manage the business until October 2005 when he became too ill to work. Several of my father's old friends got together including our dealership's parts manager and decided to organize an annual Show & Shine in my father's honor. My father had been an avid car and racing fanatic and had owned more than a few Camaros and Corvettes in his time. The event will act as a fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society.
The Show & Shine will be held on Saturday September 9th, 2006 at Romaniuk Chevrolet in Leduc, Alberta from 11:00AM - 4:00PM (registration @ 10:00 AM). Registration is $10 and all proceeds are going to the Canadian Cancer Society. There will be a free barbeque as well as several prizes available to all participants. The response so far has been overwhelming. Several car clubs have joined in and we are expecting between 100-150 cars (including what I am told are some very rare and valuable cars).
Just wanted to invite any of the cobaltss.net members to come out to the show & shine or to participate in it if you desire. I will be out their with my Cobalt SS, and it would be nice if some of you were able to come out.

DIRECTIONS TO THE SHOW & SHINE
Just an update for everyone. We are expecting about 100 cars, possibly more depending on the weather. There will be two Chevy Impala's (a 1959 and 1960 I think) that were purchased from a Barrett-Jackson auction. There are supposed to be some "tuner" cars coming out, as well as some involvement from some of the Corvette clubs. Otherwise, there should be lost of other cars.
$5 will get you a pop, bag of chips, and either a burger or hot dog (all proceeds going to Canadian Cancer Society). There will be several prizes available to entrants. GM Canada has also donated a bunch of Meguirs product that will be given out to the first few hundred people there.
I should be there, so if any of you come, say hi!
