Calgary - random talk thread
It is on sunday the 22nd i believe around 1030 11 ish.
no dude it is a indoor show most likey, maybe at the olympic oval, round up center, or maybe even the saddledome. you would loose the car for the night and following day, as all cars get brought in the night before. the booths set up the night before too. they would host it indoors in calgary because we have no track. it is actually a cool feeling to participate in a indoor show of that size. seeing your car surrounded by other amazing rides all shinned up and looking sweet. its something we have to plan for and prepare in advance.
at sea level and most likely on e85. good luck to you it is your truck, all i would do is a intake, exhaust and maybe a tune. even then i would think about it hard.
12.6 is faster then what i can run i am sure, but i have never been beat by a ram. there is however always a first time for everything.
i am excited to go to HIN, i really enjoyed Driven when it came to town. HIN is in a way better league.

Hemifever Custom Tune
Custom Track Intake
Moe's 87MM Ported Throttle Body
ARH Longtubes w/o Cats
4.10 Gears
Catch Can
ATI 15% Underdrive Pulley
180* Thermostat
So which part is an actual mass produced bolt on that would take 15 minutes to do aside from the longtubes? 3 of those would take longer than 1 hr and even that's being generous.
you can buy all the rest of the parts from moe's performance aside from the "custom" intake

So what does he do? Gets a 3.1 V6, makes it fit and work and turbocharges it. The whole turbo kit built by hand. Ended up blowing up after a summer too because it was just a junk yard motor and busted a couple ringlands. But still pretty impressive none the less haha.
Lol you saying that reminds me of my buddy Chris. In 2000 he got a brand new Cavi Z24 for a Grad present. Well a year later he rigged up an M90 on it. Back then there was zero support from any sort of tuning software. Just used a fuel regulator to add fuel as boost increased lol. Well it lasted about the summer then blew up.

"fast" all depends on the bar which you compare against;
a "fast" 1980's domestic car was roughly in the sixteens in the quarter mile;
back in the day very few musclecars could break out of the fourteens...
IMHO, it's all about the type of car - drivetrain, rear wheel drive or wrong wheel drive...

I think for thier segment and time the 2.4 deltas were pretty respectable considering what most of the compact markets' cars would run;
And then thrown in an SRT4 or SS/SC, and you were even better...
Look at today's sport compact segment;
240ish hp Focus ST, 205ish hp GTI, 200hp BRZ's...
In stock trim, both 2.0l Cobalts are still no slouch.

we've officially been on "any day now" status for well over a week.
Jamie's girl friend in Prince George was due within a couple days of us, and last we heard, she was on route to the hospital yesterday afternoon.

I made a tiny addition to my car last night...
it's fixed in the centre of my back seat.

the first one always takes it sweet time coming out. its because all the tendons and muscles are tight. jerr took his sweet time too. he went like 4 days in labour before he decided it was time. funny thing was if he stayed in there for 1 more hour he most likely would have died. it took them 5 mins to get him going when he came out. it a experience i rather not repeat hahahaha i swore my ex became the devil himself.
now the million dollar question is did you get a recaro seat? i know i need to add some safety stuff like fire extinguishers into my car for the kid. i also will have to take the bottle out every time he/she is in there. i know for a fact my boy/girl will know what boost is before they get off the boob. hahahaha.
for those who frown upon that i dont frankly care. jerr knew what racing was before he even knew how to walk. as matter of fact he wasnt even 1 when he watched his first build. he sat very happily in his seat in -10 as we body lifted and rebuilt the suspension on a 80 chev desiel 4x4.

i don't have any "seat";
we have a hand me down graco carrier c/w two bases;
IIRC you can't put newborns in a seat anyway...
when it comes to changing from a carrier to a seat i will probably pick something priced well, that isn't too huge, so that other people can also sit in the back - preferrably something all black, that cleans easy...
I don't know if you have realized it, but many seats are getting so big that they reduce the vehicles effective seating capacity...

well first thing first. make sure the seat you have is still good. they have expire dates on them. iirc they are only good for 4 to 5 years. yes of coarse you start with a carrier, but regardless if it is a seat or carrier you are loosing 1.5 seating placement anyways. graco is a good brand, you know im going for a show piece if i buy a recaro. essentially they are all about the same size and take about the same amount of room. i have no worries with that coz my car has been essentially a 2 seater for over a year. i rub too hard with people in the back, so i never have anyone back there.
btw that is a serious heads up on the expire date of seats. iirc it is a law. if something happen, and they find the seat to be out of date, you essentially loose all rights to be compensated.

yeah, now there's a serious scam/crock-o-crap if there ever was one...
it's plastic and cloth - there's no way that they should expire...
but we're good;
do you recall Jamie's very pregnant bridesmaid? - it's a hand me down from her, and it's still fine.
Thanks

as long as you knew about it, that is all i can do. i think it is a scam too but they are pretty serious about it. ella had no clue about it, until i informed her. i know they checked jerr's seat when we took him out of the hosp. certainly a cash grab if you ask me.
