ya. tons of people showed up. i saw damiens car but didn't see him. i couldn't find anyone, i found my boss so i chilled with him for a bit and then left. he's got the evo10 with the platinum vinyls on the side

I was there till 930 way to busy, got 1 run in and I did horrible

 

who is damien? Also there is a big cruise tonight to support Race City. Meet at home depot parking lot at 5:30 then leave to downtown at 6PM. We hope to get +200 cars.

not me. Weather went to **** fast tonight. There was a good turnout for the rally. It was good to see everyone come out and support. Wish we could have seen more cars out there as it was for a good thing. Have a good one guys

its true, i watched the live feed of the vote..

it lives as long as RC owners agree with the terms of the new lease, which is slated until 2015...

the city presented a new piece of land as well for a new site

 

No kidding. I wouldn't put it past the douchebags to jack up the lease amount or land taxes, or something just to make it hard for them so they can have the bloody land.

 

the new land is in the West end of the city, and price tag looks like 40,000/acre

 

With all the controversy over this issue, and the simple fact that the bureaucrats in waste services are not going to back down, it would really be in the city's best interest to offer the land at a much lower cost, and look at ways to provide large tax breaks to art or someone like him on the cost of building a new facility.

The fact that we won the vote is great and all, but they will find someway to make the lease terms to difficult to maintain, or possibly find other political methods to force them out.

I think the bottom line is that we are not going to win. It would be nice to fight, but I doubt many have the motivation to pursue a mission to oust the naysayers in city council, or lobby the city to bring more visibility to these "democratic" processes that are really taking away our right to choose.

 

I am really glad to see the track staying in operation for awhile yet so that the owners can find an alternative site for the track.
