really ~ see you taught me something new.

Mark, please understand that on a forum like this people can easily come off the wrong way, trying to be humorous is a great example (because it flat out doesn't work);

I will say my shtick, because from meeting the local cobalt guys, you all seem cool - and I'd feel bad if I didn't at least say my part to try to help anyone avoid financial or otherwise prosecution;
I have a feeling that bigroberto is the only one who completely understands what I'm getting at, so I'll respect you all enough to let things drop...

I find it interesting that him & myself appear to be the only ones to have posted any track e/t's in our sigs...
(I pulled mine earlier today, because, lets face it, people here really don't care about a twenty year old Grand Am ~ I only have it there to tie into the "Pontiac-oholic" bit)

Mark, the TA show is this Saturday - is your car going to be done?
If you're in, I'll go...

please recheck my comments, I never used the word immature - you're reading in between the lines there...

if you re-read my post about the roll racing comment, you should see there is nothing offensive, and I actually tried clearly stating why what you were doing was pointless.
in fact I didn't call any names what so ever...
I then moved on.

Just as you're asking it from me (more or less), please cut me slack, and chill a little...

ha-ha!

It sounds like we have the same problem Steve! ~ women in my life go into the friend-zone way quicker than I would think they should...

It sounds like we differ in the fact that it bothers you, where as at the end of the day I have never lost a wink of sleep over it...

Well guys... I am a hypocrite

I am very against street racing... but I COULD NOT resist... completely empty road, no roads leading into it, no traffic ANYWHERE and a 1 mile straight away... anyways it was a C6 vette lined up beside me, neither of us launch but I had my window down slightly just to hear him... just after we take off he punches it and of course I follow suit!

well AWD is fantastic... while he spun I hooked and took him through the first three gears, and into 4th (half car MAYBE) and then go figure... the LS3 top end kicked in and it was all over I let off at 160ish and he was about 5 cars ahead....

Moral of the story... I need a bigger turbo.

thats awsome al lol bigger turbo is definatetly needed.
johnathan, no worries buddy, i just wish you come out to the meets there and see what it is exactly about before you come to judgement on it. as far as the ta meet. it is suppose to be 4 degrees and rain. if this is the case then i dont think i will be there. no sense wasting tank of gas just to endure this. the ta meet is like cursed, i swear to god man. every year it ends up the same way RAIN!!!!!!!! my car has been done for weeks now, i was even at the rod shop show 2 weeks ago. however i will let you know after i see what cody says. your also right about things coming off the wrong way coz i will tell you that graham, and kris are actually very cool younger guys with a good head on thier shoulders. so all is good then.
on a side note, i am freaking sick and tired of working on cloraplast signs!!!!! please would someone bring me a cool job to do lol. i need to get creative here. lol it has been awhile since we have done something cool!!!!!!! besides my own car!!!!!!

HONESTLY I WOULD LOVE TO GET TO RACE CITY SOON AND WHAT THIS BITCH OF A CAR WILL DO!!!! so lets get a drag night happening very soon guys.

hey johnathan, i just called cody he says it is on sun. the weather is suppose to get better by then so i should be there. if it is on sat i doubt we will be there but if it is on sun then yes we will be there. it is at deerfoot mall right? the 30th is sun.

it's not that I've passed jugement on what ever goes on there, I just simply do not want ot in any way shape or form be associated with the street racing crowd;
I have several times over been involved with Secret Street as a volunteer, and have been involved in other ways with the CDRA;
I know for a fact that cops do keep tabs on people who show up there - that (and the late saturday meet time) pretty much does it in for me...

This is great to read!

I hear alot of people complain about Race City, compared to Castrol, but frankly what many of these people miss is:
- that both the tracks in fact get the same kind of prep for friday nights
- track surfaces are the same quality*
- Castrol's lower elevation will yield lower E/T's**

* = NHRA & AHRA have strict guidelines for this which have to be met for a track to be sanctioned; the only year that RC was not a sanctioned track, was a year in which the city council mucked things up just long enough for RC to not be able to get added to the AHRA events schedule; the back (aka: road course) can be a bit scary, but that's not taken into account because NHRA & AHRA care about the burnout area, the quarter mile, and a given stretch at the end of the track for slowing down; and the rules state you're only supposed to do 30kph on the back anyway. As I've understood it, the road course is being (or has been) fixed this year.

** = this will be most evident for n/a cars.

I've heard the tech inspectors can be cooler @ Castrol, but they require everyone wear a helmet, while for the last couple years Race City has gone strictly by AHRA/NHRA rules (helmets for street cars is something that is purely up to the discretion of track management); you only need a helmet if you break 13.0 in the quarter (for a non-convertible); as in you hit 12.9 or faster ~ frankly I like this alot more.

CRAP.

You're right.

I started volunteering on sunday mornings, so I'm not going to be able to get to deerfoot mall till around 1pm at the absolute earliest ~ here I thought they were doing it on saturday
Oh well...
I'm still up for the Church Show & shine though...

Get a helmet or rent one. Jeans, running shoes and a shirt with sleeves and a working seat belt is all you need
