I think you would be on your toes mark!!!

Camping could work but I think it's getting too close to winter for that. it's not exactly warm out at night anymore!

basically tim's meets but playing out in the snow. what we used to do is go and find random parking lots and take a bunch of pictures. maybe do some ebrake pulls and just have fun in the snow and then go and have lunch. i think i've got some pictures of it around here somewhere.

here's the last one that i remember https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/cana...07-pics-86941/

I just got this in an email (been on their list since '99);

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-Cvgm7Fp8w

I keep meaning to go buy my ticket...

EDIT:

oh, and this is a total shot in the dark here, but does anyone know if there's any trickery to getting 'peasant-vision' when hooking up a new set of UHF "bunny ears"?

I'm going to bring back the first set I bought, for one with a larger loop...
I was able to get channel 16, so the UHF part is working, and my digital tuners are working... but I think the fact that I'm in the basement is shooting me in the foot.

No more bunny ears. Analog is dead. Everything is digital now

there's a bit of a misconception there;

conventional "bunny ears" (the two antenna) will not receive UHF ~ only the lower band analog signals;
add to that older TV's do not have a tuner capable of interpreting UHF (typically channels 14-69) signals.

with the digital conversion, all channels are now broadcast on UHF ~ so it's the antenna and/or receiver that is put into question ~ any "how to's" you might find will presume you have an old TV, and I'm guessing they will also presume you're above ground and/or near a window...

I have a newer tv which has a digital receiver, as well as a DVD/VCR combo which also has a digital receiver ~ I think the antenna I bought has too small of a UHF 'loop'...
and then there's the fact that I'm insistent on staying in the basement...

I know what I want to do CAN be done... just not having much luck right now...

if by ""analog" you mean "over the air" I'm both pretty sure, and hoping you're wrong;
I was under the understanding that it's the freequency that is being affected by hte changeover, and that the "free" channels which were in the 2-13 range are now no longer being broacast on the old low frequency ~ and that the digital changeover meant that the older low frequency signals have now moved to a high frequency "digital" signal...

we'll see about that - I just sent an email to the CRTC

I've seen all the commercials. Analog is no longer broadcast over the airwaves. everything is digital now. rabbit ears and T.V antennas are a thing of the stone age!

oh?

I could have sworn these UHF antenna clearly state that they recieve digital signals...

how does your phone recieve it's signal (hint: over the air digital signal via an antenna)...

Like I said, we'll see...
I just exchanged my antenna for one with a bigger UHF loop...
(I've understood so far that the Digital signal is just broadcast on the UHF frequencies)

You guys aren't playing a little bit of the old ****-bl0cker now are you??

(I couldn't think of a better saying that came close to getting the jist across that I was going for)

This was the one that only got me channel 16;

This is the new one that I'm really hoping will do the job;

*crosses finger* ~ because purchases like this I don't care to do over the internet...

exactly, they are doing this to clear up stations and also force people to get rid of the old tech that is pointless anymore.
