^^^ meh...
I don't know where you hold the opinion of a comparable old stooge, but the black-out thing has been done to death, even before you or I bought our cars...
for example;
I went to one of the CHR labs this afternooon for a blood leeching... err, test;
after I showed up, I bury my face in a magazine;
I get called to the desk, at which point i need to go out to the car to get my health care card;
upon leaving the building I noticed a black SS/TC parked beside me... pretty cool...
so I go through the test and head back to my car, at which time I notice that the other cobalt, as well as the black (snoozarific imho) nissan on the other side of me, are both black cars with black limo tint windows...
dude blacked-out is over done... be unique... even if subtle.
mar carried over his snake skin thing ever so subtly to his cars rims...
I thought that looked great;
I also thought, with that single (subtle) modification, he showed more creativity than 99% of the cars out there...
Maybe Mark can brain storm with you to get something creative - like accenting your car's colour on the rims...??
I can understand you wanting to personalize your car, but try to be unique about it...
personally I think silver wheels look great ~ you could paint or wrap them in a darker silver too... but something that sets the wheels (visually) apart from the tires...
or get a set of SS/SC wheels in the smoke-tint... I dunno...
.......... ( <- that's a thought break indicator btw)
@ Jon.;
I briefly stopped at Southgate yesterday;
I'm guessing your car is done, becasue it was sitting (apparently complete) outside...
As much as I've heard you knock those wheels, they do look great ~ and I've never seen another car with them!
.........
I learnt something new tonight at safeway...
So I know that some people (in this chronically materialistic society) tend to get into trouble with credit cards;
even though I've been carrying a balence on one for a spell, I don't think I'm THAT bad;
After having my air-miles card handed back to me, I handed the teller my air-miles-american-express card, at which point i jokingly said "I'm going to double dip" (thinking that it made enough sense;
after she took my card she paused and asked me: "how much?"
apparently the term double dip is commonly used (at least at safeway) to indicate that you're spreading the bill between two credit cards... wow...
that hadn't even occured to me...
I cannot imagine being at a spot in life where you're so strapped, that at safeway (of all places) trying to not max out two cards for a bill less than $100;
mind you I'm admittedly cheap... (but not in a bad way
)
and I have always tried to maintain some assemblance of a budget...
ok, gotta go... late night snack... nachos & refried beans (yum)
(yeah I know it's bad to eat late/ just before bed... but what ever)

i seen someone go through 5 credit cards/debit cards at a macs to pay for 10 dollars worth of stuff, in the end she said she was going to get something from her car to pay and just left.......seen this happen lots, kind of sad.
i also was behind someone at the grocery store recently that had to take items off there bill 1 by 1 till the credit card accepted, this being said the items they were shopping for were not essential either so if times are that tough maybe think twice

that's just plain crazy...
my (old, not so adhered to at the moment) rules are;
then if those two rules don't help you decide weather or not to buy it;
I have one more rule:
if it's a 'want', it stays at the store...
I would like to have cable tv, but I know I've got to pay bills and I wasn't perceiving good value for the dollar... so out went cable tv.
.....
I should have bought the 'low-sodium' chips...

Q: Is it a want, or a need?

I'm a little lost here. I have a picture of my car with an engine holding brace on it outside of the dealer, maybe it is done.
I don't remember knocking my wheels very much other than what they cost me.

and Jordan, I'm not a fan of the "Murdered out" look. it's too import douche bag for me. I'm an old school contrast with chrom here and there!
I'd say some nice chrome rims or even hyper silver as Jonathan had mentioned would look really good on your car

hmmmmm thx jonathan that was probally the most intelligent thing i have ever heard anyone say about tricking out thier car.... that pretty much says it all right there....
i like the dude from winnipegs stock wheel mod if you ask me..... the blue car with the blue and black wheels.... that was maybe the nicest looking stock wheels i seen.... just wait til you see struttin's car after he is done it will be sharp.... some of the stuff he showed me was top quality....
my biggest pet peave is a car that doesnt look complete.... in what i mean in that is everything looks like it belongs..... name decals match cars theme, caliper paint is a reasonable close match to the color scheme you be using, colors match and look clean and classy.... neat and tidy.... i like to think the old balt was one of the finest looking ones around.... coz everything had a place it matched....

I only did a brief drive-by, but it looked like the hood was closed...
maybe I'll drive by again tomorrow...
All the j-tools I've seen which support an engine will not allow a hood to close...
You've mostly knocked the condition, or the cost... but you've done it on more than one occasion...
it probably was the cost and that they don't make them anymore! lol
oh and I got a call yesterday sayiong my car was done and they want me to come pick it up! lol
