Canadian Mid West Buy/Sell/Trade thread
Do you guys know of any good places online that ships domestically? gmpartsdepot.ca for OEM, but can't really find performance parts that'll ship within Canada. Ordering from States is always deceiving (USD to CAD + Duties + Shipping) yada yada yada.
Thanks
Thanks
it really depends on what you want;
I have found both ZZP and MPx to be very reasonable with shipping - a key secret is that you need to ship via USPS - which is their version of Canada post;
This skips brokerage, and other fees.
Anything shipped to Canada is subject to tax - which is why couriers use a broker.
I also buy from GM Parts Depot, and Powell;
Only Powell is Canadian... our options are few.
Joining some Canadian-Facebook-cobalt groups, or scouring kijiji can get you some great deals on this side of the border too.
Good luck!

Any kind of bolt on mods. Not really sure if my car is worth putting the money into, though. It's a '08 and just hit 140k km's. When I get a second vehicle I'd like to mod my car and keep it as a summer driver. It's otherwise stock right now.
Floor mats, OEM are ****, best off investing in a good set of husky liners (available at greggs distributors).
The shift knob actually isn't listed as a sevicable item, iirc it's a part of thr shifter assembly.
I modified a spare shifter I had a while ago to have a much better knob on it...
Floor mats...
The GM accessory 'all weather' are hard to beat for fall through spring, and the Lloyds mats are really hard to beat as far as a good summer mat goes.
If you will humor my opinion, the best two mods to get are:
1) downpipe
2) tune
A local is acually getting a really good reputation at tuning, if you're interested.

Ya I got tuned by KMO43 last year. I'm still spending money on little stuff as she was a bit of a fixer upper when I bought the car last year. Shocks, HPFP, tries, evap solenoid, just ordered HVAC blower motor and floor mats. It never ends! :/
I think I saw someone in edmonton looking for SS/TC seats - which means that leathers would be available.
IIRC a local some time back had a set of leathers kicking around - I'm not sure what happened to them.

Hey Peeps, long time no talk; as you sadly may remember my pretty widow SS was written off 3 years back anyway I've been tending to her summer tires (she was written off with the winters on her) and I realized I likely won't be needing them any time soon with the plans for the future... anyway they are in great condition and were only run for 2 Summer seasons (which we know in Calgary is basically a month and a bit) and brand new off the show room floor.
I've got a Kijiji ad up for them and am happy to drop my asking price for a fellow CobaltSS.net brother/sister if your a serious buyer.

I'm going to give this thread a long overdue bump;
I created a thread elsewhere on the forums about two weeks ago, and this past week I put out feelers in some facebook groups as well.
I'm currently looking for the following:
Need:
- pigtail for stock boost gauge with at least an inch/3cm of wire
- radio support bracket
- ebony sedan carpet
Want:
- drivers side a-pillar "airbag" button (screw cover)
- unmodified 2009 sedan a-pillar
- rear lh door panel in ebony/grey
Casually looking:
- nice conditioned factory smoke tint headlamps
- a stock 2008-2010 factory intake/airbox & charge pipes
- 2008-2009 analog boost gauge (kpa or psi, it doesn't matter)
- stock low km K04 (for my car, not this one)
I am not in any gigantic rush on anything, and budget is always a factor with me... so incase anyone has subscribed to this thread, and can help me out, send me a message.
I have some leads on some parts, but have not as of yet made any deals on any purchases.
