if you guys dont mind, id like to attend as well. if you got more plans for this id like to hear it. I would like to take the bike up to the mountains but it depends on if theres plans to camp out or get a hotel.

kool, depending on the weather will depend on what i bring. If i bring the truck thats like a $300-$400 day just in gas. But if i bring the bike its like $100 in gas. Only problem i can think of if i bring the bike, i can only get 200kms on a tank, so approx every 2 hours i have to fill up, i doubt the guys from edmonton are gonna wanna stop with me, so i would have to play catch up. But by the time i catch up, ill have to pull back over to fill up.

yea i think jody said he is in for this, if thats the case im sure we could get a group together too meet everyone in calgary to make the main trip.
But yea, as long as its not a problem with people im in. I usally get about 230km a tank with like a 2km reserve and thats city riding. Im sure if im going alone on my bike and duck behind my windscreen i can get about 250-275 on a tank. Which means we would leave edmonton, make a quick stop in Red Deer and then i should be able to make it to Calgary.

i see you put me as depends on my car. I WILL BE THERE! i looked real hard at everything and it is only body damage, no mechanical (other than a cracked airbox) and no frame damage. she drives perfectly fine. the only thing that might be wrong is my strut tower is bent, if it is im out, car is most likely not worth fixing, but since im not going through insurance, its really my call if i want to pay to have it fixed. i only need body parts such as a hood, headlight, grille, fender and bumper cover. all not major parts. but i cant be 100% sure im coming as i can only tell after tomorrow, and when i get the fender and bumber off. im 95% sure i am coming though

how about:
1. meet in calgary, tim hortons in deerfoot meadows (cause its right beside deerfoot),
2. then up to 16 ave (hwy 1), out of the city to canmore, stop there for pictures, gas, pissers etc.
3. then off to banff, stop there for about an hour, do whatever.
4. then up to castle mountain for pictures and a stretch
5. up to lake louise, more pictures, rest things like that
6. up to the saskatchewan river crossing, do some fishing or something like that.
7. then all the way up to jasper.
dont know what to do after that, camp out? drive back the same way. for the edmonton people coming it is closer for them to just go to edmonton and us calgary guys can drive back the same way.
google maps says 11 hrs to jasper and back. we could do it in 9? lol its 852 kms. i could do it on 2 tanks no problem.
ill put the distance between each stop:
tims to canmore: 94.3 kms
canmore to banff: 25.9 kms
banff to castle mountain: im guessing 40 kms
castle mountain to lake louise: about 40 kms
lake louise to river crossing: about 100?kms ish
river to jasper: about 130 kms
jasper to calgary is: 415kms
the whole trip with stops and everything would be (in my mind)and if its 11 hrs driving 14-16 hrs

yea that sounds good, biggest leg for me will be Edmonton to Calgary and Jasper to Edmonton. I can tell you right now, if im taking the bike its going to take some mind power to be able to last that long...haha. I went on a Cobalt cruise back east on my bike, it was 110kms to the meeting point then about another 100-150km of driving around and then another 110kms kms and it was a killer. Either my legs would cramp up, my ***** would be crushed since i had my gf pushing me against my tank, or my hand would fall asleep on the throttle.
Not sure if the gf wants to go on the trip, i know she wont want to go if i take the bike, but if she wants to go ill take the truck (which i dont really want to do). If she isnt on the bike with me then i had abit more room to get comfortable.

i havent made a set plan yet.... i was thinking if we all started in calgary around 730 8 am we drive out to seebe (white fish) be there around 830... do a quick shoot at the mountain that looks like a dinosausers...
then we can hit 2 jack lake by 930(thats where that pic with the mountain is... we have several options next.... we can hit the road going to norquay.... or banff falls.... or banff gondola parking... or we can hit lake louise or moraine lake.... i figured if we are able to leave banff by 1 pm and head up the highway towards jasper... we can hit peyto lake if there is a nice shot there.... i am sure there are some sweet shots to be had at mt sask or mt athabasca... i am also sure from there are good shots from there to jasper.... i figure if we can hit jasper around 4 5 pm... we can head to edm and find some grain bins along the way.... then from there the edm boys would have to do a lil guiding to get a couple of ideas.... then we drop of the edm boys and head home down to cowtown.... we can stop some where and get some sunset shots somewhere.... maybe sylvan if we think we can get past the cops hahahahaha... then go home...

dude i figure we will get home around 10 hahahaha if we did a loop then it also makes it fair to the edm guys they drive down sat and stay the night.... we can boogie home on sun night down the 2 but that would be one big loop... as lethbridge or sask if they decide to come well leth isnt far away from calgary and sask will probally have to go home mon if possible... or if it easier for them to head out from edm...

well if you guys started at 8am, that means us Edmonton guys gotta leave either the night before and stay the night up there or we leave edmonton at like 4am. If i got the cash for a hotel i dont mind that. But im trying to save as much money as i can cuz i still gotta sign up for race school for my bike and thats $400, not to mention parts to repair the bike when i crash...lol.

Cool, well im defently in, but ill have to decide probably the first week of May what im taking. Obviously if its only like 10*C im not taking the bike, but if its like 20* ill take it. I really wanna hit the twisty roads in the mountains and have a nice ride. I havent had a good ride on the bike since i lived back on the east coast and use to cruise out to Peggys Cove. Here in Edmonton its all straight roads...gets boring.
