Performance Shops etc..

Hey guys, figured this would be the best place to ask such questions. I'm gonna be looking to add a few minor mods to my car once i get it, and one is the exhaust/muffler. I want a deeper sounding machine pretty much. I got a price on the GMPP Performance Cat-Back exhaust from Forbes Chev, but i don't know if i want to spend that much money. Would i be able to use a muffler to achieve the same goal? What places do you guys suggest around Halifax for such thing? Any help would be great, thanks a lot!

Mike

if u just want to change sound and dont care about the hp gain or all that stuff u can get a magnaflow muffler from Canadian tire. But i recommend getting a full cat-back exhaust and header/downpipe....pricey, yes, however you get a good sound and hp gain...just remember to get a resinator to quiet it down abit...lol. Which ever way u go, dont get anything from the dealerships...they are to expensive.

Thanks for the heads up. I might just go with the full setup since in the end it'd be worth it. What places would you suggest around the HRM for this type of stuff?

Also i looked at Canadian Tire, and with the magnaflow they have there, do i just put the stock tip on it and i'm set?

What size cobalt do you have? 2.2, 2.4 or 2.0? If you have a 2.4 or 2.0, go buy a Borla 2.25" universal. About $100 for the muffler. About $45-50 to have it welded on. Not that expensive and just as deep as the GMPP kit. Thats all I did to my 2.4L sport. Some people on here have heard it. It was really deep with no rasp.

2.0L , its an 07 SS/SC, so if that would work, then i might go with that option.

Thanks a lot for the input, greatly appreciated! Did you buy it online? Or locally? Whats a good place to go get it welded on? Any body shop i take it.

Once again, thanks guys.

YOu have a SS/SC Go to a muffler ship and have them cut the exhaust just before the axel when it goes down to 2.25 and have them weld some 2.5" pipe from there and then get a magnaflow muffler welded on. There you go a 2.5" catback for under 200$

Forbes Chev said it'd be $590 and some change installed.

i do all my shopping at Glubes Speed and sound, i dont trust anyone else.
if you go there i would just tell him that pyke told you about them and you thought to check them out.
what i did was go out and bought exhaust pipe from parts for trucks and a vibrant muffler and they built my 3`` exhaust
