Thumbs down Posting

Just out of curiousity, If I wanted to sell something to "local" members only, why does one HAVE to post it in the classified section? Getting piles of messages from out of country members is pointless and wastes time and space on the site's server. It seems that all the local "for sale" item threads are being locked or deleted, but nowhere in the site rules does it state that it is mandatory to post in the classified section, only that if you do post in the classified section you must follow the following:

Posting in Classifieds - If you have no intention of buying what is being offered for sale, do not post. Posting to give someone a hard time because their price is too high, or to take the thread off topic, is not permitted. No "auction" style or "testing waters" threads allowed.

Am I missing something?
Do I need to fear for my membership by asking?

Has anyone else noticed how some moderators are going a little too far? My opinion, but I'd rather see more taxing messages deleted, like the ones where people repeadly quote PHOTOS, clearly bogging down and crowding valuable bandwidth and server space.

I hate browsing a thread only to wait for the same photos to load over and over and over again with a one liner at the end.

most members look at the new posts page and disregard where the actual thread is posted anyways.

If you have a problem with the rules I suggest you send admin a PM.

It's sad members can't do something so simple like following rules.
