The Kpa is steady at 120...its only when i rev up in N to show my friend, it was 140. Highly doubt its clogged cat because from what i understand, Oregans replaced the cat/exhaust about 2 weeks ago. Anyways, thanks james for clearing things up...I'll be out to the shop in a little while. Hopefully you will have time to do a 3 pull dyno on Gyrocon's TC

Getting him to price me up Magnaflow Exhaust, Header and downpipe....might get a credit card today and order one
I will email you some tunes tonight after work...fill us in on how the new SS/TC makes out

Any dyno #'s yet on the new SS/TC at Raven??

There's something wrong with your car. That dip in power nosedives after 5.7k rpms. It must be something other then heatsoaking. Your only making 135whp at 6.5k... that's terrible. I would look into possible problems. A stock exhaust will hurt your performance, but nothing like that.

Yikes I dont feel so bad that I dyno'd 244whp on a less than stellar base tune if a new SS/TC is dynoing 223-228whp on the same dyno....that tells me I am well over the 260whp # on a higher reading dyno...seeing how most new TC's are in the 240-250whp range

If your line keep going to the 7000rpm mark you would have been in the 225-230whp area

Ya that extra torque makes it a totally different car, I seen a stage 2 ion redline here in SJ dyno a max of 208whp on a low reading dyno, it was a terrible humid day but still 208whp on a stage 2 is low, at least you beat that!

my only exhaust upgrade is an over axel and mag. muff..there were 2 cars on our dyno day that had factory exhaust front to back...no power dips for any of us,.i think that this is a mystery.

I really never seen anyones dyno drop off like that. Lots of people have stock exhaust and still nothing like that. I think you got another problem other than the exhaust. I wouldnt be dropping 1300 for a new exhaust set up until you know 100% that is the problem .

I agree with Chad here, that drop just doesnt seem like something caused be a stock exhaust, wouldnt rule that out as your problem just yet.

dont know...going to hold off on the car until the spring or at least until i buy new tires for the spring/summer...although i might put new plugs in tomorrow. Car has to be re-tuned a tiny bit cuz the dyno tune messed it up abit...when im stopped at a light the car was going to like 500rpm's then going to 1500 and then back to 500 and so on. James did a quick tune today and sorted that out but its still doing it a tiny bit, so tomorrow i have to go for a 30min ride and log some data and fix it. Right now im currently tinting my tail lights, just did the first coat

well i think the smart move is to get my credit card down over the winter and then spring time use it for all my parts...tires are first man....i cant drive winters all year round since my PZero's are gone

i went to dartmouth surplus and the guy said they didnt have tires to fit my rims (stock 18").....i think its bs personally but theres awesome deal on the BFG GeForce on tirerack and they r getting good reviews so i think ill get those. If the plugs dont fix the problem ill do some more research, if i find out it is what u said then ill get it fixed, if its just the exhaust then i wont bother right now

yah I am not sure I am not an expert but you woiuld be the first cobalt I see that the exhaust made him loose that much power. I would just get the car overall checked out.

well like james said, he had a car do the same thing, in a way it kind of makes sense....with 2.8 pulley and the intake thats alot of air coming in and its gotta go somewheres....maybe the stock exhaust cant keep up. Or maybe its a problem that we dont know about....maybe my shitty winter tires....who knows. Only way to find out is trial and error...i want to upgrade my exhaust anyways so might as well do it now.

I ran my 2.8" pulley with stock exhaust for a year and a half with zero issues, had it dyno'd no drop in power up to 7000rpm ...the issue isnt your exhaust its a tune related issue. I will email you some tune files when i get back

just a thought, and I"m sure I'm gonna get flamed for this one, but chad, you said when you installed the pully and belt, the belt seemed to be identical to the stock belt..... is it possible that the belt, which appeared the same length as the stock one, may start slipping as the forces increase around 5k rpm?? damien are you POSITIVE that the boost isn't droping off slightly just over 5 grand??
