like I said.. way in advance lol... I have to make sure that everyone can arrange to have that day off!!! :-P... I like the idea of the island because its just to get away from the mainland... personally. Mainland is fine with me but I wouldn't mind the idea of March 8th and stay until the 9th and travel back on the 9th kind of over night thing. Ferry rides CAN be enjoyable. lol.

You obviously don't have family on the island that you've had to go visit regularily for the last 30 years.

You do all realise a round trip on the ferry is like $170 if you reserve both ways, you'll get a much better turnout if the majority of the people dont have to hop the ferry.

You're killing it denlou!!! lol I'd like to have it on the island but if most of the people want it on the mainland, then it will be on the mainland for maximum turnout possible...

Actually for the ferries, if you do 1 car with two people:
$36 there, $36 back for the car.
$11 each adult. (totaling $22 each way)
Total round trip if you do for two people is: $116.00 to go to Nanaimo from Horseshoe bay.

I'm not sure if I want to do a Victoria trip, Nanaimo seems more suitable. Or somewhere around there.

But again, just grabbing feedback. Please reply if you are 1-Interested in going and 2-Mainland or Island.

Thanks!

BTW I've invited the j-bodies from BCGME to come as well.

I doubt you will Americans will ever need a passport to get into Canada.
Getting home however might be a problem, "one day."
Right now, "Homeland Security" has backed off on the need for as passport to enter the US at the Canadian border.

As for the meet, I think you guys should do it on the island just to be fair to the "island members" because when my west coast unvieling meet happens, it will be on the mainland.

at this point you only need a passport if you are flying out of Canada into the states, to drive across the border you need picture/government id (and birht certificate makes it easier.

I would prefer the lower mainland!

radio ads are saying as of jan 23rd you need photo id and proof of citizenship. basicly drivers licence and birth certificate, or a passport. they had to relax the passport laws as canada just cant keep up.

Ok... as much as it would be nice to do an Island meet... I guess we'll have a mainland meet, and we'll reschedule an island meet for a couple weeks later. It would be nice to have a big turnout... Now I'm thinking a good place to choose will be Mission/Abbotsford. Not because its nearby where I live but because for one--just north of the border (near Bellingham/Sumas). Not such a large/confusing place... and we could easily pick many parking lots to line up in :-P.

Now that we've agreed to have it in the mainland... whos for sure down and I will update the list.. I heard a bunch of maybe's for some of you saying if it was on the mainland. This could turn out to be quite the large meet!!! Good thing I baught a DSLR.. be able to snap some amazing shots.

im just throwing this in there, but in march the big tuner club (Revscene.net) in the lower mainland usually has their spring meet with 200+ cars showing up ranging from your grandma's car to Lamborghini's and Ferrari's

Something to think about
