I have decided on the vibrant header and down pipe with the vibrant catback exhaust to the tune of 1500.00 bucks and 30 horsepower gain

I have the same Vibrant set up, just a Fujita F5 intake instead of the injen.
Ordered mine online but had it installed at Advanced as well.

Some advice:
I am looking to get one or two glass packs added to it, its f*#king loud, example, I set off almost every car alarm I drive by. Just be ready for every head within a block of where your driving to turn and stare, not a nice car stare, but a evil stare.

Oh yeah, HYDRO SHIELD, if your putting on a filter then its a must in BC

That 30hp will only come with a tune to fix the air/fuel ratio, you'll see a bit of a difference hp wise at first, you will notice it will get alot more responsive.

The other thing is within a day or two tyour going to get a check engine light, its going to be a running to lean code. Don't sweat it the MAF sensor is not set up to take the added air intake. A tune will fix this, but I had the same light on for better part of a year, its just really annoying

I live in Maple Ridge, If you want PM me and we can meet up and you can have a listen to see what it sounds like

I would not expect anywhere near 30 whp on a pretty much otherwise stock car. (not sure if you have anything else done) More reastically, you'll get around half that. If you have other things done, (smaller pulley, some kind of tune, etc.) you'll get bigger gains because it will free up some nice restrictions that are holding those mods back.

You have me thinking again......I was trying to decide on the exhaust or the stage 2 from GM. Would this include the tune you are talking about.

Ok Hydro shield:
http://www.injen.com/docs/products/listing.asp?pcc=rp

Its a pre filter that blocks out water, since the air filters on the Cobalts air in the front fender when you put an aftermarket one on it gets exposed to water, so in BC where it rains 7 months of the year its kinda needed.

Personally I would do one of the kits before I would do what your doing, like what was already said, what your looking at doing will give you maybe 10 hp and that's being generous.
The difference in just doing stage 1 is really noticeable, if you do that plus an intake (intakes make the whine of the SC so much better) than you'll get way more HP than the setup your looking at and save alot of money.

A tune.....well It would take alot to explain it all to you, but in a nutshell, its updating the software in the car to compensate for changes made, or sometimes you can update just the software without any hardware and still get big gains. Example: some of the guys with the SS/TC's are seeing 30hp gains with just a tune, My other car has upgrade kits for it through the dealer and a company called Dinan, there all software no hardware and Stage 1 is 66 hp Stage 2 is 88 hp and stage 3 is 94 hp (they say you need to upgrade the oil cooler with stage 3 though)

If your still interested I can meet up with you on Sunday and let you have a listen, that new bridge makes it easy to get to Surrey so I can meet you half way. PM me and we'll work out the details.

Unlimited- New place is awesome, just finished painting my garage, and the floor (going to put rubber tiles down in the spring) Now I'm starting my media center in the basement. The commute to Burnaby everyday is not that bad at all, all highway so its fun, when the traffic is right, The new radar detector was a must though
