FOR SALE: 2006 Cobalt SS/SC

My son decided to purchase a 1991 Toyota MR2 with a JDM SW20 swap and Greddy turbo kit. He was purchasing the SS/SC for take over payments. With his purchase I am forced to sell the SS/SC. I paid the car off and have the title in hand.

Location: Adamstown, PA 17569

Below is the information.

  • 2006 Cobalt SS/SC
  • Black
  • G85 package (LSD and Recaro Seats)
  • No Sunroof
  • AM/FM CD (no satellite)
  • 54,000 miles
  • GM Stage II
  • Hurst STS
  • XTC Cold Air Intake w/AEM Dryflow
  • Exedy Hyper Single (10,000 miles)
  • New Cluch Master and slave
  • EBC slotted and dimpled front rotors
  • New brake pads on all four wheels
  • Brand New Goodyear Eagle GT Ultra High Performance All Season tires installed December 27, 2008.
Car has been well maintained. Most of the mileage is highway driven. I originally purchased this car for myself and purchased another SS/SC when my son took the car.

Asking $12,400 - Reasonable offers accepted

Yes....is the least of his worries. He will be driving it on a daily basis next week as we should have the reliability and safety issues completed.

I have a question for the seller... not to thread jack... but how big of a difference did you have when you put on the ebc rotors? Is it worth it? and any problems with it?

I have ceramic pads on with the rotors. The rotors don't get the rust haze like stock, never squeal and stop just as well, way better in the rain. Even after putting the miles on the rotors they don't have the inevitable wear groove around the outside. I've bought them in the past, bought some for my son's MR2, and will buy 4 for my Tintcoat Red Balt. I've used Powerslots in the past also....very good product too.

Both are very good however.....here's my take.

I always used Performance Friction Carbon Metallic Pads with the Powerslots. IMO the metallic pads are what causes the rotors to wear sharply. It is also another reason the zinc coating no longer protects the rotors or just plain wears away. They begin to show signs of rust on the contact area. The vents won't produce rust which ends up on your nice wheels. They stop very well, especially in the rain. I would get about 50k miles on them (in a Pontiac Grand AM GT1) driving from Central PA to South Philadelphia each day (135 miles round trip).

The EBC rotors with ceramic pads have gotten 43K miles and virtually no rotor wear. They do not rust to this day and stopping power is excellent. These particular rotors are EBC 3GD Turbo Groove Rotors which are the top of the line. There is a whirring type sound when they are new from the width of the slots but boy do they work well.

My choice....EBC with red or greenstuff pads.

No thanks.......wanted to put some cash back into my savings. I have two SS/SCs now and a BMW X3. The black balt is paid for so I'm really not in need of selling it.

Thanks any way. Winter is rough up there this year!

Going in the Auto Locator next week.....bump for a great deal
