Selling my Cobalt. How much should I ask for it?

Im selling my 06 SS/SC.

Rally Yellow, 23km, G85 package, Sunroof, XM radio, Front and rear side airbags. Excellent condition.

Aftermarket: GM Stage 2, RDFabs 3" stainless intake (causes CEL : lean code) DC Sports front strut bar, Progress rear sway bar, Ingalls torque dampener.

Not installed : GMPP Sport catback and brand new Injen CAI with hydroshield.

Warranty : Still has factory warranty until feb of 09.
Additional bumper to bumper 5yr 100km extended warranty.

I'm thinking of asking 19,500.

What do you all think?

Thanks!

Modifications add little to none to the value of a car…in some case it decreases the value.

Good
$16,940

Fair
$15,565

Trade-In Value

That doesnt account for $1500 options like the G85 package. So its not totally accurate.

Oh yeah I forgot it has front and rear side airbags

The g85 was only a $800 option, wasn't it? That's all it was for me...

in a used vehicle it doesnt matter if it has a g85 or not. there is not an add in NADA or blue book for the g85

You have to read the top of my post...and those values were with F&R side airbags.

Yeah I know that aftermarket mods dont increase the value of a car according to the KBB or NADA. My buddy sold his 98 Eclipse GSX for 12 grand. 78kmi Tein superstreet coilovers, B&M short shifter, Greddy Type S BOV and a few other things.

Parts are parts. Just because they are on a car doesnt mean they dont have any ******* value. Jesus.

After market Parts only add to the price if you find the right person with a private sale. Trade in is a good way to get ripped off. G85 and stage 2 will help the car sell allot faster to a private party. The only thing about selling a car yourself is that it can be a big hassle to allot of people.

Yes your right, selling it to a private party they will help but I was saying if u trade it in take em off. I appraise cars for a living so believe me I know.

16k(maybe less because the check engine light is on)... the new ss/tc is going to kill our resale value and most people know its coming. your friend got that much for the eclipse because they are hard to come by and hold their value well. Not because he had mods on it..most people going to buy that car is going to mod it anyway.

you should search autotrader in your area for your car and see what dealers are asking...and take a grand or two off that and thats what you'll get.

True. Maybe I should just install the Injen. I'll sell you the RD Fabs 3" if you can tune your car.

i'll put money down on this, you'll be LUCKY to have people even consider buying a used cobalt for more than 15k. no chance in hell you'll get even close to 19500

you can't compare what your friend sold a different car for. resale on cobalts suck, no one wants them.

looks like a terrific car, but if someone offers 15K, take it and say thanks. I think you are looking at 14k - 15k$ on the high end for individual sale.

best way to get some money back is to put everything that you can back to stock, and sell the parts seperate. you will not get any money for the parts you leave on the car at all.
