12s?
You do realize, your trap will go down very slightly when using slicks....With the addition of a header and what not, I don't see even a 105 trap. 105 needs a really good 60 in order to get a 12...sorry don't think he will get it...definately be close though. I say on race day, just gut the car. He'd definately hit a 12 then
This is the most retarded statement ever. Lets say you make a 13.1 @ 105 1/4 mile run on street tires. Then you throw on slicks. True your MPH will drop, but where you're wrong is the E/T. The reason you trap drops is because it took you less time to 1/4 mile so you couldn't build up as much speed. There for slicks lower your E/T AND MPH.
lol, for real. but a cobra heat exchanger adds a lot more to our cars than you would think. I gained 5mph from my heat exchanger install. I went from 96-101mph traps. So I think he can do it. I see trap speeds being about 106-107 ON the slicks. I bet he'd be 108-109 just shy of 110 on street tires. and with a 1.9 60ft and that 1-2 shift not spinning, I can see high 12's.
did you buy those slicks and axles off c24/na (guy near vancouver???) if so, dam you for buying parts i wanted with my car (insert fist shaking here lol.
just keep in mind guys for every 1/10th you shave off your 60' time, its worth roughly 2 tenths up top. so if you ran 2.20 60' and 13.6, if you dropped down to 1.9 60' you would be roughly 13.0. as i said, thats a rough rule of thumb, but it doesnt account for what you need to do to get it there. with slicks you will be fighting the stickey soft tire.
and 1.6 6' times are atainable. i have a buddy with an ecotec cavalier, basicly built as a drag car but still street legal. launching on around 50hp worth of nitrous he hit a 1.75 60', launching at 6000rpm on slicks. he never got a full 1/4 mile pass as it was leaning out in 3rd, but later on he got some runs at a 384' track (dont ask) and the incrementals were looking like a low 12 second run.

keep in mind, im at 3000ft altitude, which is what is giving me a lower than expected trap MPH.
i have trapped at 104 before
since my 13.6 run,
the mods will be mounts, axles, slicks, midlength zzp header/dp, cobra H/E, more agressive race day tuning (the 13.6 run i was running 10.9-11.2 AFRs, lots of room to play there)

1.6 aint gonna happen with just slicks..
Seriously, if you have hptuners or access to it, best bet would be race gas and then weight reduction such as passenger seat, rear seat, seat belts, spare, jack, possibly subwoofer and amp (stock one)

I made the how-to on weight reduction
and i have HPT.
but i like to test myself.
I like to give myself at least 4-5 trips to the track to get what i can out of it, before looking for more power.
I spent 6 frustrating weeks running 14.0s before i finally got the right conditions and good driving to snag a 13.8
Im a firm believer in NOT adding power, until you know how to drive with what youve got

lol I did some wieght reduction and ran myslowest lol...a 2.8 pulley exahust and intake (maf translator was killing my power) i ran 14.1 at 99 consistantly and weighed in at 2894 with me in it and half a tank....full weight 3030 with me in it and half a tank I ran my best of 13.4 lol. My goal is mid 12' next spring....i've got some ingredients that should make it possible
But good luck man. I hope you do hit a 12.. that would be pretty sick.

Do you have the clutch done on your car or even some injectors . I saw a tune somewhere in this thread but I would think with a stock pulley and a tune with the heat exchanger and down pipe, header and catback. I would say high 12's
60lb injectors
K&N CAI
GMPP Catback
ZZP downpipe
ingalls TD
thats what i did 13.6 with.
what i will have extra, is the following
Cobra H/E, ZZP Midlength header/dp combo, TTR Engine mount, TTR Tranny bushings, DSS Stage 2 axles, Hoosier QTP slicks, + room for more agressive tuning.

anam0lous, you should come down to the Hat Speedway where a nhra track we always have big events, theres lots of v8's to eat up, were trying to get a sport compact class aswell...
