Just like hatrickstu said, "we are not bashing, just stating our opinion and trying to edumicate some of you guys."
A baseline dyno and baseline track time means what exactly???
To most track goers, 14s is alright, MOST minivans, trucks and family sedans can't run 14s, so a 14sec vehicle is faster then most vehicles on the road. To me and hatrickstu, if you have a 15-16-17 second car and plan on modding it anyways, why not save the money that you spent to go to the track and spend it on mods???
Also to add 15+ second cars usually are the ones that don't know how to stage and drag water up to the line.

I agree and true for the most part, but when modding the 2.2 it is kind of nice to go, run the track (ussually not much more than $20 for a test n tune night) feel how embarassing a 16 second E.T. is and then get motivated to go turbo.
That's what a baseline means. Even if it isn't a dyno, those times let them know where they stand, and also helps them get an idea of where they want to go.
That $20 isn't going to break someone's turbo budget, and it will make it all the more rewarding when several thousand dollars later that same person gets to come back to the track and run 12's.
BTW I still haven't heard of an SS/SC runnin 12's. I know we'll get there too eventually. But at the moment the 2.2 eco has proven itself at the track far more than any other GM 4cyl engine has.
IMHO shame on anyone here who would try to discourage someone from modding their ride just because it isn't the top of the line model.
CORRECTION: There appear to be a couple SS/SC's in the 12's. Sorry FAST06SS, has anyone else broken into the 12's yet?
Still I don't think many other than Rob have taken the SC as far yet.
Regardless it all just shows how capable the ecotec blocks are.
Each one has awesome potential, I can't wait to see what the 2.4 guys will be doing after some time with HPTuners and a little more love from the aftermarket.
And it's only a matter of time until someone builds a frankeneco mixing and matching.

Since we're pretty off topic already / the original topic has been beaten to death;
What do you run 280?
Ther is nothing in your gallery, profile, sig, vbgarage, etc.
We could assume by your name you're pimpin the 77 280Z, but I choose not to make assumptions typically.
Not trying to start shyte, I'm just curious

thanks, best part of it is that as hard as it is to believe, that color blends in. Cops drive by me when I am speeding and do nothing.
just because he drives an sti gives him no excuse to talk ****, i wasnt bitching about 15 second cars when i ran my 2000 z28 at the track. He is just as bad by running a stock car, he totally fucked his point over.
