I don't go to the track because it is being rapaved. It opens back up next weekend.

Wasn't intended as a slam towards ya man,
It's just funny how off topic and irrelevant this thread became.
I actually had to go re-read the first post to remember what the hell we were talking about
I think this thread is about ready to die

I ran 2 runs total so far at the track with my 2.2 completly stock
granted i run at Bandimere has been 10,000-12,000 above sealevel and the first run was 18.1 second run was 17.3. then we got rained out kinda and i went home
this weekend ill be at bandimere saturday and sunday so i should get more than 4 runs in and with the mods that i have done i am hoping for WAY low 16's or even better way high 15's
if anyone knows how to convert the elevations let me know.. would be curious as to what i could run at sea level. If you add a second due to altitude (as a 16.2 where the others have run) and i hit a 15.8 that would be under the 15's due to altitude so I will be entitled to go again?

(Unless your on pinks
) I could care less if a 2.2 pulled up next to a 9 second 1967 GTO.
It doesn't matter what you run, as long as your having fun.
BTW: I own a 2.0, not all of us are asses

My wife has a 2.4 ss auto. I ran it here in kansas and it did a 15.8. There were two ss/sc cobalts there racing two. one was and 05 the other an 06. they the best that one of them ran was a 15.2. Not a whole hell of a difference. 5,000 dollars for 6 tenths. WOW. I mean we got our car for the 34 mpg it gets. I mean if you guys are making fun of the 2.2's and the 2.4s because they are slow well come on, people race to have fun. I mean I have a 2002 trans am ws6. It runs a 12.20 @ 115. I mean to me the cobalt ss/sc are slow I mean they are superchargered and they can't even hang with a n/a V8 auto car. The closed street race I have been in with a hopped up ss/sc is like 8-10 bus lengths. So don't get me started on fast and slow. Hell my 2003 Z71 with headers. tune stall and bolt ons runs a 14.3. That is faster then most of the ss/sc and it weighs 5000 lbs. So come on guys ease off a little. I really enjoy racing my wifes 2.4 ss cobalt cause it is so consistant and it pisses the fast cars off. So I agree to each his own. Just tought I would add my .02.
if i looked at all this from a real racing perspective everyones cars in this whole site wouldn't be worth racing. i mean running 14's in a 22k car is no achievement. What i like about cars is the moding and seeing how much faster a car can become. sure it's sweet to have a fast car(sub 13 seconds), but part of the fun is getting it there too. i have a firebird i'm building thats gonna run 11's maybe faster when i get it to hook up, but it's also nice to do some mods to my daily driver for a little side project. thats my perspective. In my opinion the ss/sc is overpriced and i wouldn't pay that much for the performance it delivers. i wish i still had my spec v it cost me 17k with the brembo's and i ran 13's NA. thats a car worth buying and moding. huge gains from bolt ons and nice japanese features like high quality interior and technology. be damned if i'm gonna pay 22k for a remade cavalier(pretty much) with odd styling, cheap interior components like heat control knobs that feel like they are ready to fall off, and goofy rear lights. so take those chips off your shoulders cause your no better then anyone else. **** most cars around here run 12's and 13's. you ss/sc guys couldn't even hang with the real racing crowd.

spec-v's DO NOT run anywhere NEAR 13's stock.
I have seen spec-v's run MAYBE a 15.5 stock.
I used to beat on them all day with my Alero
Man I cant get past 16.7 for some reason it my auto. I have the damn Michelin Energies, that was a really rare thing apparently on the CObalts since they were supposed to come with the Pirellis. My stock tires blow goats. Plus I know elevation has an effect and I raced it in FL, the frigging flattest state in the union. Is it just me or does hot weather and shitty tires hinder my times? lol
Race what you want speed is dependant for the most part on money. More money you got the faster you can go (provided you can drive). But It is kinda painful to see a bunch of
16-18 second cars at the track every week with no improvement. Get a base make your car better and come back. But thats just my opinion

everyone had a good point it is all about the fun in it, you know. for the ones who dont like it u can leave anytime to a different site if u cant take the heat get out of the kitchen.
i have a 2006 ss/sc ran a 13.79@ 102.2 with a 2.80 pulley, cai, 235 40 18 tires. not bad but want it to go faster still.

if your calling the Cobalt a remade Cavalier---you can just leave right now rice boy---your as stupid and ignorant as the rest of them. I've beaten modded Spec V's easy in my car.
All for a banning?
