Good point lol

Well technically you're not getting rid of rotating mass, you're adding more balance. Our cars already have balance shafts just not balanced to the same degree as hi performance ones.

So do you really think they make that much of a difference for the price?

Sorry I was thinking of removing the balance shafts rather than the neutral balance shafts.

Then do you have an answer to my question? is it really worth it for that extra balance?

I'd like to answer your question but I personally have never done this on my ECOTEC engine when I had it but...

To be complete honest, no one can answer the "worth" of changing something or gains cause it's a personal opinion. It might be worth it for Fred to do this but you might do it and be disapointed. Things like that.

If it helps, Fred is happy with the gains of this change.

Thanks for all the kind words from everyone. It can definitely at times get frustrating after a while hearing comments from people all over where we travel with either of our cars. People tend to do the laugh and point most of the time :P but its all good. Frankly, both of our cars do exactly what we built them for. In our minds, there is really only one reason to build a race car... and thats to win races with it, and that is what both of our cars have done. The ET will definitely becoming... but winning is winning no matter how you look at it, and i think thats what quites people up after a while. Thanks again for all the kind words... hopefully i'll get a chance to see some of you at the tracks this year!

Nice job! I love how half the people on this forum with stage 2 and an intake that have never been the the track think they can take anyone in the world. Then 10 threads start about why "their car isnt running right" because they have stage 2 and an intake (sometimes even an exhaust!!) and are only running 14.2s when they do go. Grow the **** up and be happy for someone when they do a good job at something.

style vs. rice

Looks do mean something to most. Like lets say you see a girl and she has a zitty face, would you date her? More then likely not. If I was at the staging lights and this car came up and we had to race I would think he would win, but if looks didn't mean anything then I wouldn't have to weary about anything because looks don't mean a thing, well to some of us they do
Somebody said it and it wasn't me. Looking good isn't rice; it's just looking good. This is a racing vehicle that wanted some attention. The goal wasn't 10-second quarters. All they wanted was consistency in bracket racing with a very "mild" motor build. I'm impressed. All of you that aren't just don't appreciate hard work.

The thing is, they focuses on one type of racing and built the car for one kind of racing, just as you would if you were building a road car, drift car, etc. But people want everything from everything
