its a turbo swap lsj. and alls it does is spin, i went to the track last night knowing i wouldnt go very fast. my friends wanted to see what it would trap since i was on street tires.
heres my first pass and then they said i need a helment. im going next week but hopefully i will get tires before then.

its just that people know that they're gonna want to have their time put up here. so why not bring the camera and a friend to the track and follow the rules...

More like still bogging. The car has 1.7' in it all day, its just practice. Honestly his slicks are quite large, so more power might be the ticket to lowering the 60'.

yeah i'm just trying to get some input from people on what tires they've ran on their cobalts. different than launching a rwd obviously lol. but i know my car has the power for a 1.6 probably even a 1.5 so i'm gonna try out some different tires and limiting boost to control the spin on the race gas tune.

nah it still pulls like a raped ape in 4th. its just the extra shift and spool time. that and i don't even know if a 26" will even hold it. i know a 24.5 won't for sure. honestly i'll probably be shifting in to 4th about the 800' mark anyways

I'm talking you want a tire that's tall enough so when you going through the traps, your at peak horsepower in 4th gear.

Lol sorry I have no idea what that is. Im on my phone.
Its stock block, stock head, stock engine. Its a turbo kit I put together with a 5857. Has fuel a walbro 255, return fuel system, 80lb injector, 50/50 mix e85. No cat, no exhaust, only a resonator bolted to downpipe. I had no back seats or spare tire. Thats it....

I don't get how thats possible. My buddies Honda has 500 horsepower and he cuts 1.5 60' spinning first on a 24" slick. I'd have to compare overall gear ratios to see how accurate of a comparison it is. Tire width does play a huge role in it too though, and pressure.

I can cut 1.7s with my cavalier with a 24.5" slick. Slicks have 10psi in them. The car is putting down 517hp/500ft lbs. Launching at 5000 rpms off the 2 step! Still spins through first and slightly in second with a f23 trans.

Another thing that will help ex, is buy M and H tires only. They are made for sport compact cars and are stickier as well. They have a 24.5 by 8.5 and a 26 by 10. There is also a 26 by 8.5 which might be better for you so you will get a little spin off the line like you want. I just hope you dont break things on the 26's.

Duly noted. its always gonna be tough to balance tire size and gearing for effective use in the quarter. these cars suffer from gearing that is way to tall. trap speed vs et is ridiculous.
