Almost in the 13 second club...

Well Quaker City Raceway was buicks only friday night, and Thompson Raceway had some special race going on so I decided to take the hour and a half trip to bfe and go to Drag Way 42...I thought for sure I would be in the 13s easily, but it was a pretty scary track, felt like a roller coaster ride, very bumpy, very dark at night, and kinda felt like it like it twisted to the left? but I managed some decent runs even though the 13 club eludes me, I still have plently time left in the year...let me know wat u think, and yes I know i need to work on my 60 foot times. Good thing is wheel hop is gone, now the tires just bust loose so I gotta work on that next.

R/t +.1040
60 2.333
330 6.152
1/8et 9.216
1/8mph 80.10
1000 11.800
1/4 et 14.026
1/4 mph 103.16

R/t +.1181
60 2.279
330 6.124
1/8et 9.233
1/8mph 79.49
1000 11.853
1/4 et 14.110
1/4 mph 101.39

the rest were 14.148 @ 102.09, 14.999 @ 80.76 (missed 3rd 50 times) 14.198 @ 101.11

What psi are you running, did you drop your psi at all? Have you considered a set of dr's?

Good runs! Better tires and more practice, you'll have your 13's. If you can get a 13.9, you'll be in the top 10 modded 1/4 mile list. (Link in sig).

Last night I was running 24 psi in the front tires...almost 40 in the back...ya I think its time to wrap the stock rims in some new tires. I also need to get a tune for the 2.8 and I should be there. 06lasserss i'll let you know when I go to quaker, prob not this weekend, but next...

24psi, holy hell. if your running street tires run them at 34-36psi. im running mine at 35psi. i found that lowering you tire pressure for these cars does nothing but lower trap speed. ive pulled 2.2 60' with 35psi in my tires.

I'd have to concur, while taking stock tires down 5-10pis has helped launches in the cars I have dragged, going all the way down to 24psi is going to hurt your trap speed.

I will defentially put more air in the tires...its just when I was stock I had so many problems with wheel hop, and the low pressure seemed to help me, but I couldn't figure out why I was traping so low, and that explained it right there. Thanks for the help guys...

Up date - today I trapped 13.9 with GMS2 and a K&N drop in filter. everything else stock.
Rear tires ran 50psi and front was at 22psi. My 60ft was 2.25 which is not great but good for stock pirellis.

man I dont know how you do it. It must be the thin air and lack of power or something cause there is no way that would happen for me. Today I first did 32 lbs then down to 26, 24, and 22. glad I tired 22. my 60fts decrease accordingly with less air. 2.18 is the best 60 ft I have ever had.
