I won't call BS, although neither of you are 'stock' since you have modified the 'original' setup. Still, its a great run...I'm sure you can run lower 14's

An air filter counts as a mod.

finally some more proof that once people get better at driving these things they could be a 13 second car stock. congrats to you and your friend those are some sweet runs.

Air filter could be good for 0.1 - 0.4 seconds depending on the car!

Still, they are good runs, but it technically is not a stock Cobalt SS!

i promise you guys if you took a stock cobalt ss, dynoed it, and immediately after did the airbox mod and dynoed it you wouldnt see any difference, maybe 1-2 HP difference, which would mostly likely just be the repeatability factor of the dyno

nah he wasn't stock thats like saying "well comon guys its just a motor mount and a short throw thats close enough to stock." Nice times but he ain't stock. Take it how you wanna take it but than if its so easy and the filter did nothing take it out for the stocker and see how easy it is to recreate that time again. Simple as that.

yea i second that....LSD would do nothing for drag racing... so it was the driver mod that made the difference! Practice and you will be up there with him

i dont need to make up BS, i was racing there aswell, itd only make me look like a worse driver hitting a 14.8. hes hit a 14.1 14.2 and 14.4 with just the air box mod. The End

and sorry but its been proven the LSD does result in better track times

well for the most part any 14.1 cobalt i've seen has had an airbox mod at least. Hell one of the guys in my town ran a 14.1 but he had the airbox mod.

Post up the time slip. Was he running drag radials?

If he got perfect traction, its definitely possible. (e.g. 1.9-2.0 60's on the stock tires).

don't need radials are cars only need a 2.1 60ft and a competent driver. The car traps high enough to get those freak low 14 ET's every once in a while.
