compressioned or neutral

in my case, when i have finished my ¼, i was slown down by compression. until julien, the owner of pont rouge dragway, told me WFT you slow down by that way.
is argu was that is cheaper to change rotor and pad that change a motor.

so how do u manage your after ¼ run?

He's asking if people engine brake by down shifting or use their brakes to slow down after a run.

I use my brakes to slow the car down and downshift when I get close to the end just like I was downshifting before/into any other turn. Brake pads are cheap and easy to replace...

Dumbest thread ever...

Should have titled it "Should I use my brakes to stop?"

yeah man always use your brakes. like has been said a million times before me, a set of front pads for our cars cost you what at most $75 (idk in canadia) where a motor can run you near 3k.

I usually shift to 5th, let the engine bring itself down easily that way, and use the brakes. I downshift from 5th to 2nd when the time is appropriate. I believe this way is good because it still keeps the engine going a little bit, so its not going from 7k rpm to 800 rpm so fast by shoving it in neutral.

I use the engine AND the brakes to help me slow down. Tell him to stfu. I've been rev-match downshifting for 80000 miles and my engine/clutch/brakes are still top notch.

I thought the ebrake was just to make the interior look more like ass? It actually works?

i go thru the traps at the very top of third at 94 and i just lift of the throttle and let the Engine do the work. when i get close i clutch it and drop it to second, hit thte brakes and make the loop back to the pits.

Julien is a tool

the guy doesn't know how to drive. that's always the argument from people that don't know how to drive... "it's cheaper to change brakes than clutch" or engine, synchros, etc.

I hit the chute. See below, I put a pontiac grill in it and labled it a GXP. That really threw people off.

I tried to find a bigger scoop to help increase the amount of air that the blower gets, but everyone was sold out for the holidays.
