Hoosier D.O.T. Drag radials
I did a search and didn't find any info on here about Hoosier's "new" 245/45-17 dot dr's. I say new because they haven't really been out to long. Has anyone used them? All I know about them is that the awd and rwd guys love them. Originally from what I have read a company called 9sec9.com bought the entire first run of these tires to get them made.
I know its a small wheel but I plan on putting them or the nitto 245/45-17's dr on a ss/na wheel. I figured they would be fine for track use on such a small wheel width. I am running 245/40-18's on my stock wheels now with no issues what so ever. I think these could be a great dr for the ss/tc guys or guys with the brembo brake conversion. What do you guys think?

these tires will trap a MPH or 2 lower

Thanks for all the input guys! I think the offset on the ss/na wheels will be good to go as far as rubbing goes. I just hope the contact patch won't suffer by using such a big tire on a 7" wide wheel. The 245's on my stock ss/tc wheels look perfect for a 7.5" wheel so I am hoping the -.5" won't be a big deal. I know the width will vary slightly from manufacturer to manufacturer for, but will be a good indicator this will be just fine.

Yea me to, but im on a budget so that's why im going with the ss/na wheels. They are out there but im sure they are not cheap. There is an entire ss/tc wheel thread on here that list wheels that people have tried so far. The problem with the 17's is that other than us and the few people that want 17" winter tires not many people try them out. Over a year ago I went to discount tire and out of every single 17 they had in stock and 4 ordered sets not a one fit. I gave up.

Well I just ordered a pair from Discount Tire and they will be here on Tuesday. They price matched to $210 a piece. I won't get to test them out for a couple of weeks due to being so busy, but I can't wait to see what kind of 60's I can pull. Lets just hope the stock clutch and tranny will hold up.

Your not gonna get anything better than that tire in a drag radial.
Only thing comparable is....
Nitto NTO5R
Mickey Thompsons which are prob a little stickier imo
All 3 are actually very very good DRS
