Only thing comparable is....

Nitto NTO5R
Mickey Thompsons which are prob a little stickier imo

All 3 are actually very very good DRS
Those Nittos shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as the mickeys or the hoosiers.

shipping is $64 to Az. but I will split it with anyone who buys them. Glendale is 2000 miles from here thus the high rate. The tires alone were over $400.

My friend's 5 speed 84 Mustang gets 1.4-1.5 60's on 255 Hoosier DOTs. So I'm assuming they should at least hook decent on a Cobalt.

Well I went and had them mounted on the wheels and took them home today. I snapped a few pics but didn't get any of the test fit. I was worried at first about how close my 245/45-18 Falkens were to the strut spring support because these are wider and a tiny bit taller but everything fit perfect. I was so nervous that I just wasted $400 on something that wouldn't fit with the rim choice I made, I forgot to snap a pic of them on the car. One thing I cant decide on is what color to paint the wheels because the polished finish is in very bad shape. What do you guys think would be best on a black car? I won't use these on the street. Should I go with the stock silver color or do black or bronze? Anyway here are the pics.

I will start a new thread once I get some more pic of them on the car and a few runs on them.

Just make sure and take the turns slow as these do have a softer sidewall than a street tire and may roll. If its close it may rub at the end of the track.

These are the lightest radial I have ever seen and they are super soft. I don't think they should expand much in the 1/8th which is what I will be doing most of my racing. It looks to have about a 1/2" to 1" of space between the tire and the strut spring support. I am going to Austin tomorrow but if I make it back early enough on Sunday I may head out to Kennedale(local track) and put a few passes on them.

a radial's amount of expanding is going to be little to none

My thought as well.

You should go for it. I thought the wheel was going to be way to small for this tire but its not to bad at all. While not ideal for this size tire the ss/na wheel will work nicely. You can see a little bit of a bulge from the rim being to small but nothing to worry about for track use.

I really hope I can make it to the track sunday so I can test to see what air pressure will work best.
