Interest thread for srt-4 VS cobalt day at E-town
Emailed them the other day. trying to see if I can get them to sponsor the event. I think it would be a good grudge matchup. since they already hold an evo vs sti and some other events.
This is for raceway park NJ, also known as Englishtown.
Just trying to figure out a ball park number of people that would be interested in going.

well it would most probably some time next spring in the 08 season. But if this goes through we are gonna need a good cobalt turnout cause I know the srt's will be there by the 100s
Not to sound like a complete dick by how is this going to be a good grudge match? You have a sit full of mid to high 13 second stage 2 cobalts vs srt4s that have the ability to run that stock.
**** most of the srt's around me arn't really that fast, plus at least my car is capable of a high 11 sec loq 12 sec pass. Also on the track **** is different, you can have the fastest street car, but if you can't drive, you still gonna suck. I saw em running mid 14's modded, so I think you can take em
I've only lost to 1 srt4 at the track and that was by .2 seconds cause I got locked outta second. Get your driving skills up and it'll be a good challenge (I'll have some footage available after this weekend, it's the continuation of evo/srt day, and I"ll show ya what I'm talking about).
stage III stge II or whatever don't mean **** if you can't drive. this ain't no 40 roll where it's all about power, this is dead launching.... where if you don' know how to handle your car, you could have 500whp and stil lose to a stock cobalt.
Very true, my friend has an Audi that's a solid low 13 second car, but at the track once he missed a gear and ended up running like a 16. Plus at the track everyone will be going all out. A Stage III SS spraying with drag tires and weight reduction can definetly play with the srt's.
now you guys are starting to sound funny. So let me get this straight, no srt4 driver can drive and all cobalt drivers are pros? I see alot more 2.0-2.1 60 on street tires over at the srtforums than i see here. Personally i dotn think you guys have a chance in hell. Line up 10 random cobalts against 10 random srt4s and im willing bet 8 out of 10 will go to the skittles.
I never said that at all. I said I've seen a lot of people run shitty time including cobalt owners (15+sec 1/4s modded) and I ain't lying lol. I've also seen the red sled go 9.80's and 9.70's out at e-town, most of my friends srt's are in the low 12's and 11's. I'm just saying it would be a fun event since the cobalt and srt are pretty much the only boosted american sport compacts. Plus down to the drivers, it can equal some pretty good racing.
**** last event I ran in it was me and 2 srt's basically left, I was dialed in at a 13.35, one srt 13.15 and the other at 13.6. and we were all hitting our times til my car locked me out of 2nd.
But anyway, this thread is in no shape or form trying to bash anyone, just trying to prove a point. **** I've seen the new z06's go 14s, if you can't drive you can't drive end of story.
