For those that do not have upgraded axles, track prep is the devil...I ran my car at atco with stock axles and she held up pretty well, but then again I didn't drop the hammer like I could have for fear of snappin an axle. I would like to hit up E-town for the chance to avoid the water pit

We're talking high HP FWD application with stock suspension and drivetrain. If I hook up, my driveshafts are toast.

I'm just looking to get a good run in on street tires for the fun of it. If I wanted the best time my car is capable of...sure, I'd wait and upgrade Clutch & flywheel/suspension/driveshafts/CAB's/Motor & Tranny Mounts and go out there w/ D/R's or slicks to hit 12's...

I never bought my car for the dragstrip, that's just something I wanted to try out. My plan for my car has always been road racing. I can't wait to get out to the Glen and get my open track license.

im not sure what your making but 250whp is not high hp fwd applications lol. Traction doesnt break axles, ask guys with slicks. Wheels hop breaks axles and you will wheel hope regardles of track prep.

I apologize, I will re-word this so it makes more sense for you.

I'm up around 280+whp, trust me, for stock suspension...it's high HP. With enough power, traction will easily break our axles; but, wheel hop is the prime candidate...

I was making 296 whp the week before I went to the track, atco makes you go through the water box, as I rolled through I gave it gas, no clutch drop or anything, and bam that was it

Yeah, I wanna go back to Jersey and get on the dyno, but that'll cost me. So I'm thinking about waiting until I have some cash laying around to go back. I'm sure I can get about 290whp w/ the weather being this much colder and my 3" catback on now...

my guess is you should have done a burn out but who knows. my friend kevin just installed frotn and rear mounts. he has the TD done already. We went for a ride and the pos still wheel hops like a bunny. he was happy though cause he said 1st was useless prior to the mounts. i loled and though it was still garbage.

street tires need heat to stick as well. spinning them also get the water off them. The srt4 being the greatest car ever? no, but when it comes to drag racing its better

I'll give you that, but from my experience unless it's real cold out, street tire burnouts aren't really necessary cept to get the water off of course

Your negativity could be better used elsewhere. My car is lowered, with KDW's, and only the front ZZP tranny mount and I hardly ever get any wheel hop. It's all the driver...

Now, back on topic...I think this would be a pretty good idea. I'll be there for sure.

how is it the driver if he punched from 20 in first gear. right wheel would just wheel hop so the only thing left is suspension and softer tires.

i'm the guy laloosh is talking about i can go half throttle in first. anything more than half throttle is spin hop spin hop. i don't see how it's the driver when we're talking about hitting it from a roll. granted 1st gear is actually useable now, and i don't normally speed off from lights or stop signs, so i'm happy with them. if i was seriously into drag racing, i would say that the hop is still unaceptable. they're great for my driving style, and even if there's still hop it was absolutely worth it for the smoother shifts. when it does hop, it's not the violent feel like it used to be as well. you can of course feel the car jumping, but it's not that violent car shaking - "o **** if i don't let off the gas i'll break something" feel.

damn, I have the ZZP billet engine mount and the intense racing trans mount inserts and I didn't get any hop, only in the rain, granted I would just completely blow the tires loose the second I hit the gas though, thankfully I dont have to worry about that anymore. Turbo lag FTW in 1st

The problem is that you don't have LSD as well as the fact that it sounds like your boost is not limited in 1st. Having LSD will make a much larger difference then most know, as well as limiting boost.
