Made it to the 14-sec club last night... finally

Went to the drag strip and ran the Cobalt for the first time. My best run was

R/T: .635
60': 2.173
1/4: 14.821 @ 94.6 mph

This was the first time racing with a manual and i feel i did ok. There is a lot of room for improvement as far as finding out where the car likes to launch without spinning and bad wheel hop and not missing gears. It is definitly a lot different than when i raced my automatic '02 Cavi LS Sport, which i ran a consistant 16.0.

All i have is a GMPP Performance cat-back and ran with the tires at 30 psi.

Also i raced a new Civic Si on the last run of the night and got a 14.934 @ 95.58 to his 15.560 @ 91.22. I raced him earlier but missed 3rd and asked if he'd race me again. He looked at his a friend of his and said 'I don't know if i should, he'll kill me.'

good run, you have a great 60' time, espically for your first time, i dont think you can get too much lower on the stock tires. what was the temp? and do you know your elevation? the only reason i ask is because you have a great 60' time, an average e.t., and a kinda low trap.

Haha I have a 07 Si Sedan and I run 14.7-14.8 pretty consistently now. But good kill. I am the only SI I have seen at the track to break 14's, even though I know of other people that have. I race with a lot of Balts at Richmond Dragway. I have only run against them a few times though. It's always real close or I race a 13 second Stage II and they pee all over me.

Just because he doesnt have a cobalt doesnt mean hes not allowed here....as long as he respects the cobalt and its owners here I think he is welcome here.
