My First Track Night
My First Track Night
Ran for the first time at No Problem Raceway last night. Thought I would be faster, but the ridiculous heat and humidity may have something to do with it.
1st run : 16.48 @ 81.09
2nd run : 16:60 @ 80.53
3rd run : 16.37 @ 83.66
Is this normal for the 2.4 automatic?

Well that is your main problem right there. Get that to a 2.2 and you will see 15s easily. How did you launch? Autos should be pretty easy to launch, just brake torque it. Right before the light goes green (or before you want to launch, R/T doesn't mean anything on normal ETs) just hold the brake and floor it, then release the brake and hold on!
Like I said, R/T doesn't matter. If you are bracket racing it does, thats it. Mine were like .5-.7 when I went lol.

i brake torqued it in L the first time and spun my ass off. Second time tried with it in drive and I could feel that it was slower. Third run I did a little burnout and took off in L again.
Heat is a time killer. Work on different launch techniques. Also your mph on last run was 3 mph higher than second= that is a big difference. Make sure you are running wide open way past the finish line...seen so many people let off right before reaching the finish line @ the track I go to which kills mph.
I am stock except for GM touring exhaust. I think I may have let off early my first run. Also, I didn't realize it would shift into second in "L". I was shifting into "I" or 2 to hit second gear, which may have messed up my shift points or something. Still learning how to play with her
