Midnight madness SA

I didnt want to brag about it but I just had to.

My girl didnt approve so she didnt want to listen. lol

I finally took my stock LNF w/trifecta tune to the drag strip.

I met a couple friends from the car club.

I challenged my friend in his LS1 SS...few mods and tune. I told him I know he will win.

The first run of the night I spinned all through 1st then grabbed 2nd really hard. By then he had lauched and was well on his way. I had to play catch up.

Towards the finish line I was at 3rd redlining (im used to upper power band due to driving a LGO Quad 4) I thougt I lost....i shift to 4th.....then BAM!! Boost kicks in and I jump in the lead right at the end and take the win with a 13.8 He had a 14.something.

I knew I could do better.

I find out my other friend with is turbo LE5 SS is running 13.8

I said hell yea lets run!

So we line up and I launched better but I had a slower reaction time. I didnt realize his automatic turbo LE5 Cobalt would be so quick. I was loosing him so at 4th gear I started NLSing to gain ground. I did but too late I guess.

I hit 13.6 this time around and he hit 13.8 but he got the white slip!

I was pissed. I told him lets run again. They made us wear helmets the next run.

This time I took the left lane and I NLS like a boss! All gears and man it put me way ahead.

My best and last run of the night a 13.4

All with shitty street tires, 20% oil life,17 tire psi, pro street xmas tree, and first time at the track.

I was rather impressed with this little Chevy. Im positive I can hit a flat 13 with more seat time and maintineace. Only thing ive done to the car since ive had it shipped over from across the country was balance the tires and plug a leak on the tire.

I also was getting alot of torque steer on my last run. So 12's might be in the picture.

Overall im MORE in love with my Cobalt Super Sport.

I agree. I just got back to work from vacation. I planned to spend my time applying maintence to the SS but instead I ended up installing a heated 02 sensor on my GTZ and in my girls car installing a in dash DVD player, oil change, and tranny filter change.

Cobalt just sat there with a sad face....no love but getting beat on....LOL

I forgot to mention I did do the muffler delete and the ugly baby spoiler delete.

And as mention earlier it has a Trifecta tune. Aside from that its all stock.
