Never drag raced before, need some tips!

I am looking at going to the track tomorrow and testing out the new TVS setup and tune. Right now I have a ottp 3" intake, TVS, solid trans mounts, TD, 3" downpipe, and a custom tune by zzp. I was trying to get some tips on launching, and how to read the tree/reaction times. Any input would be awesome.

Thanks

the split/exact moment your clutch touches your flywheel slam on the gas. bounce off the rev limiter till your at the exact speed to shift into second at 3600rpms. golden!

Bounce the rev limiter to shift into second at 3600rpms??? If I'm bouncing the rev limiter I will be at 7200 rpms? Can you clarify??

If its your first time tracking, your going to do shitty, its going to happen. especially with a tvs balt, dont go assuming your going to crack any super impressive times cause it most likely will not happen

The best advice I've heard for launching a car with traction issues is to launch it like your taking off from a redlight from a hill, and theres an ******* really close behind you

The ideal launch range is somewhere near 2000, ULWIZ or whatever his full name is launches at that and he has impressive 60ft and I think ran a 13.4 or better on the m62

joking. lol, but try your best to A. keep traction, and B. when shifting sure you are at THE highest rpm possible without over revving.

Do not dump the clutch. It will shock the drivetrain and light up the tires. I got 2.1 60' out of street tires by easing out the clutch at around 2k. Here you can see my launch. It spins some, doesn't completely lose traction, and it also doesn't bog. Just spins and goes.

like I said in the other thread and as dude stated above, go to your happy place imagine some dumb nondriving c*nt pulled up right on your bumper while on a hill. now imagine yourself leaving that light without any hint of rollback whilst throwing a bird at them through the sunroof if you have one. that's all you need to know.

My best tip is to ignore the tree on your first time. It is just going to rush you and you will make mistakes. Slip the clutch around 2000-2500 RPM and roll into the gas. Also, for a little extra grip, adjust your front tire pressures lower. Many people have found luck in the 21-26psi range.

Not always true. If you aren't making power any higher then you might as well shift. Once you get further down the track though, you'll want to run out the last gear to prevent shifting, which will at this point just slow you down.
